Jobs in the ski industry

I'm a sport medicine (pre med) major, I'm wondering what kind of jobs exist in research and development in the ski industry for someone with a knowledge of kinesiology and biomechanics? Seems like developing boots and bindings (skis too) requires a knowledge of how the body works and moves.

sorry wish i could help you out but i guess the best thing would be to get intouch with the manufacturers and see if they have a need for a person like you. but sounds good to me

GET UP FROM YOU COMPUTORS AND CATCH SOME AIR, GRIND A FEW RAILS, RIDE A PIPE OR JUST DO A FEW RUNS WITH YOUR FRIENDS.

^I've thought about that, my current plan is to get my doctorate in pt, but I'm wondering a job testing and designing products.

its not a bad idea, that would be sweet. the thing about the industry is that is largely who you know. do your homework on it i guess, good luck.

kind of off the topic, but i'm an i-phy major, too. get into pharmaceutical sales. it makes bank. equipment related development positions in the industry are really more engineer oriented.

You can try e-mailing the guys at www.modaliti.com. I think they're located in Utah. Those guys design a lot of tele and AT stuff but they've also contributed to Line's binding (I'm not sure if that's good or bad).

im a freshman in bioengineering, hopefully focusing on biomechanics. You sound to be looking at the same stuff i am, i want to try the UVM program, they have an integrated med program with stowe's ski patrol i think. But something out west would probably be better. Good luck.

I ski Killington

College passes are awesome

You could prob get a job helping design bindings and boots so they are safer and reduce amounts of injuries.
