Jobs at Blue

I'm looking for a job at Blue next year. I really don't care what I do, as long as its part time on the weekends, but I do want ski privileges. Obviously, my hope would be to work as a park person but since I'd be only 16 next year and it'd be my first year on the job, that seems unlikely. Other than that, I wouldn't mind working at one of the ski shops within the Blue village or as a liftie or something.

If anyone has worked/is working there, would you mind posting some details regarding what you did, what your qualifications are, how much you're payed, and maybe some of the benefits you get.

BTW, I'd also be open to working at places within Collingwood, but that would be secondary compared to a job at Blue.

I have a job with a club that goes to blue and I get to teach park. Its so chilling.

hey its my 2nd year working in the Blue Ski School... As far as jobs go I would say that you should try to work rentals or lifts, Im pretty sure that part timers get a seasons pass but dont quote me on that. Are you from up here or do your parents have a place up here?! are working the weekday nights an option, because I know that would chnage the jobs that you could get. Talk to human resources and the girls in there should be able to help you figure out whats best for you.

i have a place up there (not in collingwood but right in behind Mansfield. it's like a 20min drive for me)so working on weeknights, except fridays, isn't really an option. my hope is that i could work the friday night plus part of the day on saturday. then, i'd ski for the rest of that day and night ski before heading home. i could also work sunday morning, but i need to leave room for homework cause i get a shitload.

what would be the typical age for someone who works as a liftie? when, i'm at blue, i dont see any people my age working the lifts (except one younger looking guy who works in Badlands). all the people my age work in the restaurant or elsewhere.

^and jibguy, which club do you go up with? something like ravens or snowhawks?

your not willing to carry a lot of shifts... I dont know what the minimum shifts are for lifties or rentals but ski school is 3 days a week. If your only able to work half day sat and fri night you might wanna ask before getting your hopes up... they would probably hire someone who could work all weekend rather then 2 half shifts a week.

yea, my other option is to get a job at a local ski/bike shop. there's one in toronto where i can work a weeknight and half of one saturday/sunday. although the one in toronto is convienient, i'd rather get a job a ski shop up in collingwood so that i don't have to come back to toronto over the weekend. there's Skis and Bikes, Squire John's...i don't know any more in collingwood.

^i'm at snowhawks man, so i might see you at Blue sometime. I was gonna get my basic instructor certificate so that I could teach Snowhawks next year but i realized that i'd only be able to teach little kids at snowvalley so i scrapped that i idea.

so u work both saturday and sunday nights? what are the exact hours? pay? do u get ski priviliges?
