Kind of a pointless thread but im really excited, i got a job as a ski instructor at my local mountain(greekpeak).
Post if you have any similar jobs, or anything else you are excited about, oh yeah and its my first job and im 16

haha thats dope bro. I remember when I was 16 I got my first job workin as snowtube attendant at a ski resort pushin fat kids down the hill

WHAT? that's sick man, i wish i could get a job as a ski instructor. i live too far away from the mountains though.

yeah it's not really related at all but just last week i got a job helping make this new program for a college/university petroleum production accounting course. pretty sweet, not as fun as ski instructor though haha.

I played Liftie out in PC all last year... there was only 5 days from January to April that I didn't ski!! CLAIM!

it was so awesome... workin on a mountain is great!

yeah and I usually took it in the AM before public was allowed on the hill.. had the first pow runs on the hill every morning it snowed... so if that isn't skiing please tell me what is.

I think i might be teaching at Mt.Baker. I got invited to the hiring clinic after the interviews.... I hope so, I really don't want to drop 600 on a pass

Coaching instructors in the park 2 days a week, local young kids in the park 1 day a week and shredding with another group of local kids 2 other days of the week. Its gonna be a pretty fun season.

At PC? That sounds really sweet. You get some first tracks through the park. Don't be a lifty if you want to actually ski. There are 1000s of other jobs that let you ski multiple hours during the day, pay better and don't suck balls. Well most of them do suck balls, but being a lifty, fuck that.

I've been doing it for 3 years it sounds alot better than it is when your teaching an advanced its ok but when you get stuck with the little snot nose kids that cant even stand up it sucks

just pray you don't get stuck teaching all the mogul mites...damn...I was fired up to teach at the Canyons last year, until i found out i was gonna sit on the bunny hill all winter whilst the 60year old bitch ass level 3 instructors got to take the private lessons out in the pow all day....thus, my employment was short lived...LONG LIVE LIFTIES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

iv been teachin for four years its a great job and comp letters are the best way to get free/discounts tickets at other places

have fun bra

I actually work for WMASS (white mountain adaptive snow sports) at Loon in NH. I don't get a pay, but they cover my pass and I get employee deals on gear.

WMASS is basically a way to share my love of skiing with those who have mental and physical handicaps. And no, not everyone there is retarted. Many of our "stundents" have growth problems, like hip deaseses, or were paralized. Its a really great way to spend the winter and I like sharing my love of skiing with people.

I want to eventually work as a graphic designer for a company in the snow business. Not sure for who and exactly what, but I want to stay in it.

huh that's weird cause my parents have basically been ski instructors for thirty years and we live pretty well... but i do agree that you have to do it for the love--you should love any job you have otherwise why work there

and to Jodi. I instruct at deer valley but i deffff don't rep it. i don't think it's a huge deal if you aren't a huge fan of the mountain you're at i.e. i could work at alta but not get nearly as much money.

good luck this year and i recommend joining psia--most resorts recognize it and give you better classes

ive got my csia level 2. if your in school, your going to HATE IT it totally ruins your weekends.

im not teaching this year. or ever again. 2 seasons was good enough for me. im park staff now.

oh yea for sure, if word got out you worked at deer valley that would defffffffffff destroy your street cred
