so i feel like i have applied to every retail store it the twin cities, and still no luck finding a job. anyone have any ideas, the only places i refuse to work is at like target/walmart.

Help a fellow NS'er out!

yeah its no fun ive probably applied at 25 jobs, called a majority of them back and still nothing, hopefully sports authority will hire me, they seemed desperate.

dude i got a job this morning at a grocery store working in the deli. i start monday. im pretty excited. except my boss is fat and has some nasty buck teeth.

but yeah i hate it when you apply everywhere and call every place and you just never seem to get anything. i was doing that alllllll last summer it was lame. keep it up tho. never know when some kid will get fired and you can snake his position.

i got my self a sick summer landscaping job $12 hr plus time and a half overtime, my check for the first week was almost $800.

Best advice i can give anyone, write a super good cover letter, every job i have applied for i have been offered.. (its a power trip to turn people down and tell them you have a better paying job:)

when i say any job, i mean any job. im talking grocery store, park maintenance, shoveling snow. anything!

just tell a little bit about yourself, why you want to work, talk up your work ethic. throw in there that your family has been shopping there and you have seen what a fine store they run and you want to contribute to the reputation of the store..

and then depending on the job just swap out the last part(telling why you want to work at the certain store) it seriously works, i have held the same 2 summer/ fall jobs for 3 and 4 years respectively..

i turned down the grocery store, but i was still offered the job on the spot, non of this we will get in touch BS..

its out in Corcoran, but theyre done hiring for the summer, its been busy though in the past three weeks working only mon-fri, w/ memorial day off ive clocked in around 185 hrs of work.

just walk into hollister, haha, its like a guarantee you'll get asked by some flaming metro sexual to work for them

dude i wuld ride for spyder in an instant..... then the first day i showed up i would come in dressed gaper style lol

dude allen make sure to say you'll be home on breaks and be able to work there over breaks. also you're probably not going to get a job at a small cool place youre going to have to suck it up and work at a stupid big place.

but yeah i worked for the first time today. i had to watch like 50 bajillion movies made in the fifties about customer service and such. woot woot. got like 4 hours doing paper work and watching movies.

just tell them you plan to work there a long time, i tell them i want to work into the school year, although im obviously not going to work when the snow machines start. but yeah i got a interview at menards tommorow!!

first day today, got a job at a grain elevator, i swept dust cob webs and pigeon shit for 8 hours... longest day of my life...

I still work at my local grocery store after two years, have a second interview with the general manager at best buy on friday, have a summer landscaping job that pays $10/hr, and just finding odd jobs to work for my teachers n shit. so basically I'll have 3 jobs this summer, plus i'll volunteer at pine this summer too as usual. AND I'm doing my eagle scout this summer too. HOLLA!
