JLev Just Changed The Game Again.

Meh. Might as well just ask your parents to finance them and save the 50-150 in interest by the end of it. Too bad it's not like apples card where you pay no interest if you make the payments on time. That would be dope.

bingo.

this is the exact same as any home depot, best buy, whatever card.

get now, pay later, interest, dont pay, get fucked.

dont get me wrong, its a good idea, and its great to be able to purchase a pair of skis this way. it is the exact reason why credit cards exist.

but theyre doing this for the exact same reasons credit card companies exist. to make MORE money.

Damn, you're not very bright, are you? I suggest you read through the thread again, and perhaps do a little more research.

ayy new downvote record :^0. but forreal a financing system isnt a game changer, its just a finaincing system. didnt say it was stupid, its actually a good idea.

yeah the hivemind was not happy with your post for whatever reason but youre right, this is the exact same as the financing at lots of stores, dealerships, etc

good application of it? for sure. genius or magnanimous? no, it's just the same thing as when a car dealership is happy that you can afford to buy a car from them, only because of financing. or when you only have $20 and your grass dealer says oh don't worry about it, take an 8th and pay me the rest later. it's a win-win as long as both parties agree to the terms, but don't thank them for it....

no, im stupid as fuckkk.

Jskis He's now on a mission to crush credit card companies since you get really ripped off by credit cards with compounding & deferred interest and hidden fees over time, etc.

[/quote]

For the record: only people who don't pay their bill get ripped off by credit companies. Pay your bill on time and flip the script, earn points and good credit or whatever that you can use to offset "hidden fees".

Unfortunately the majority of people aren't so responsible and that is why credit companies are so profitable and deemed " unfair"

Y'all need to learn a thing or two about credit leverage

Why is this a big deal? If you put it on a credit card, you get the points for airline miles and other stuff. Get a 0% interest credit card for 12 months and you'll come out way better than using JSkis financing because the skis will cost you less and you get benefits from using your card.

Personally not something I would use but a great idea. Allows more people to buy new skis at the start of the season, and on his end allows him to sell more new skis at full price. Win win.

I'm waiting for somebody to buy them at the start of the season, break them, and then bitch that he is going to make them pay the rest of the $ even though they can't ski on them.

If it happens I'm going to my threads that shit so fast, grab some popcorn, and sit down for the ride.

It wouldn't go very far, if it's covered under warranty he gets a new pair but he still has to make the payments. If he stops making the payments because he is pissed at J skis for whatever reason, Affirm is going to fuck his ass so hard he shits diamonds for the rest of his life. Actually, I retract my previous statement, that would be pretty funny to see.

I feel like Signal Snowboards have a much better system for buying a board in small payments:

- $89.99 a month for 6 months ($539.94 total, no interest etc.)

- 5 'athlete and artist curated gift boxes' (1 each month for the first 5 months)

- Board arrives in 6th month fully paid for

Granted you only get the board after 6 months so doing it now would be a waste for the coming season (wouldn't get it until February) but it is a sensible system to get a new board for the next season if you are working over summer etc. and can only pay small payments, plus you get loads of other shit too.

HOW YOU PAY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WARRANTY. It's the same as buying with a credit card. Last year 874 people bought skis from Jskis.com using a credit card and a few warrantied their skis before paying their credit card off without an issue. Our warranty info is here

I can see what he's saying though - Credit cards aren't looked at the same as monthly payments specifically for a product. That is the only trouble I'd see with this - you're absolutely right J but I could see one or two customers simply being angry.

Like - boom financed some skis. Backed into them with my car accidentally and snapped them in half. Not warrantiable. I have payments left on skis I can't ride and I'm pissed.

Simply the customer's fault, and that is what it is. In the car world if this happened they'd get to to roll your lease into the next one. :)

I know. I was just saying that somebody is going to argue that they shouldn't have to pay for it because they aren't using them anymore. Not that that's right, that's how the world works, or that's going to get them anywhere.

Hopefully not but I almost want to see the thread so I can laugh at them

Just what America needs. More instant gratification with steeper financial penalties.

I don't know about that though, financing has existed for a long time and it works on so many other purchases. People definitely are stupid with it - I'm not arguing that - but its pretty clear that you bought it even if you haven't paid for it.

So I sincerely doubt this will be a problem. As J said, there's great warranty in place, so if it is a defect you get product. If you broke it because you're dumb, well you still bought it so you owe the money.
