Alight ik there are a million threads on this ski, but please help. I'm a ski racer and i want a ski thats pretty fat that can slay all. I have never skied a rocker ski before and im nervous about how it would ski on groomers and hard pack. ik these ski r hyphed really hard should i get them?
 
They slay groomers. Suck on ice. Slay everything else except for the HARDEST of crud.

Get them. You'll love them I promise.
 
read my review in my threads, i describe it in all different categoriesi'm a racer also and i love these in hardpack and unlike the guy above mine hold on ice fine, you just gotta dig in hard
 
sweet thanks, one more problem. ik i could handle a 185, but would it be a waste if i got the 175 because i cant find any 185 at the moment. o btw im 5'10''
 
You might be disappointed, they ski ultra short due to the rocker. I have the same dilema, but I don't want to spend money on a ski thats too short
 
True that. Racers love ice. I just don't have the balls to dig in at Mach 10 on ice with them. But they're seriously fun on groomers, and pretty much everywhere else.
 
ice is easier and safer if you dig in at mach 10, otherwise you let yourself slide and lose control but if you stay on edge and gripping the whole time it's easier
and 175 would be very little ski, it would ski like a 140 or something, unless you're under like 5'6 or don't weigh much you should definitely go for the 185
 
umm a lot less. 165 maybe?

They do ski pretty short, takes some getting used to, but SO fun when you figure it out.

I REALLY wish they made them in a 190. I'm 6'4" and am on the 185s. They're still money though. You can probably use the 175s if you're 5'10" though. I still float in powder and I weigh about 195-200lbs.
 
Alright karma for everybody thanks, but one last question

I live in the midwest and go to CO a lot would these ski suck for park and just messin around in the midwest?
 
Dunno. haven't really been that hard on them in the park. They have smaller edges because they're built for BC and things OTHER then rails. So I wouldn't recommend them for rails at all.

They seem to have a pretty good swing weight, again, I don't consider myself hardcore park by any means.

they have good swing weight and everything but i've found they slap down really hard on landings in the park, i dunno why but i tried all different kinds of stuff but they still slam down and make a loud noise on all the landings

There are better 1 ski quivers out there, but the JJ won't be a terrible one. Just don't hit rails on it
 
I'm gonna guess that they slap down because of the rocker. I noticed this as well, but again, I don't do much park being in AK and all...
 
I just got back from riding them all day. hands down best ski ive ever skied, however, i have never skied a rockered ski before but the transition on these things was so easy. i skied 10 inches of snow today that these things slayed. as the day got on it warmed up and the snow became skied out and slushy, skis cut right through them. get these skis.
 
if you can get them for that price do it. i got mine for 470. im 6'1 190 and was skeptical at best about getting the 175 but once i skied it i had no issues, i usually ski a 177 wall and it didnt seem too much shorter. they hold very well on the groomers and hard pack, i have bombed down keystones downhill run with my friends on them and besides being a little jittery (probably due to the combo of rocker and short length) they held up great. ski them in the park all the time and they are so fun. they handle everything, big jumps, rails, jibs. they have been a little wierd to do spins on off of keystones big line but only on the first day. they destroy anything you can throw at them. this ski is the future of skiing in my opinion, buy it, you wont be disappointed.
