JJ UL VS Vision 118

Trying to put together a touring setup. Which ski would you guys recommend between the 2. Im moving to British Columbia and due to my financial situation will only be able to get one designated touring ski. Im also taking the vision 108 into consideration. Ideally lookin to pair the ski with a shift.

I had the JJ UL with shift. Amazing ski. Binding was anointing cause the front plate moved and the boot was loose in the binding.

the JJ UL it’s also super soft compare to the Vision 118 it’s also a lot wider in top and tail.

i would go for Vision 118 or even the outline. Special for the area you move.

vision 108 is literally the perfect touring ski for CO for a playful (but not full park) type skiier IMO. Which means maybe it’s a bit too narrow and light for the heavier and way more snow in BC. Obviously don’t know for sure tho. I probably would get the (much heavier) 118 or outline or maybe the wildcat tour purrrrrrrr. No experience with JJ but looks hella fun. Guessing you’ll have a blast on any of them and either love the shifts (like me) or be constantly cursing at them.

Yea man I’m 6’3” 185 so definitely not the heaviest but a bit tall id say. Maybe the 118 would be a good choice just to have more ski under me for a little added support

sweat thanks man, why would you say the vision 118 or the outline is more suited for BC?

yea hopefully a taller dude can comment. I’m 150 pounds soaking wet and 5’10ish and ski the 183 which seems perfect. I definitely wouldn’t want less tip in front of me.

The vision 118 is more suited to backcountry skiing, its going to perform a lot better than the JJ UL in variable snow.

Id really only choose the JJ UL if switch landings were a high priority, otherwise the vision will do better.
