Jj, akjj, or magic j

so i just got an armada shop sponsor and im already getting fired up for the next season and looking for a new set of one these armada sticks. i know they are all fairly similar, but i want the one that will float the best in the fluff a duff, is stompiest and i can throw into easy surf turns. being able to shut down the speed in the trees because they are so dense at my local hill. oh and pistability is not an issue, i just wanna know about the soft snow performance.

im about 6'3 180 lbs. i am a pretty advanced skier. love to jump, drop and stomp then mach out of it. any advice on wich ski i should lean toward would be AMAZING. oh and also, im coming off off the salomon rocker 2 108.

Not the jj's at your size. They make a max 185, and the akjj is the longer, stiffer model. Personally, I would go with the magic j in your situation. They are a bit wider and will feel more jibby than the ak

My advice, talk to the shop and armada and try and demo 195 AK's and 190 Magics, maybe even 189 Norwalks right at the start of the season, and pick which one you like best.....

From what you said in this thread, I would definatly go with either the AK JJ at 195 or the Magic J at 190. the JJ's are a little more soft and thinner and a bit more playful. But if you are trying to go big in the backcountry doing drops and jumps I would go with the Magic J's.

ok so leaning away from armada, as i dont know how well the whole sponsor thing will work out when the season comes, two skis ive heard great things about are the moment night train and atomic bent chetler. it kind seems like the battle of the more underground brand vs more mainstream brand so lets try to keep any bias out of this. im also open to suggestions, thanks!

interior and coastal bc. mountains like powder king mainly. with some revelstoke, big white, and whistler trips as well

majic j is a pretty wide ski for everyday all conditions where you will be. the jj has always been a rad lift access big mountain ski but if it is too soft go jjak. or go noralk for everyday and bubba for mega pow only

Ive got my last years rocker 108 for a daily driver, just looking for a stompy, pivotty, floater in the soft snow

Do you like the rocker 108? If you do then get the rocker 122. Same ski just wider so the transition between the two will be minor.

Yeah at your size the bigger length would suit you more. Try out the rocker 122 in 192. It's an awsome freestyle pow ski, I had them for the last 3 seasons. Held up great not issues at all with them, and mine were pre production, the real ones had even better durability.

I originally had them center but that sucked so I moved them back to -2.5. They rode all over much better there, still really good switch but having them centred meant you were left with too little nose on them to really charge.

AKs at -5. Trust me, they will almost feel short if not ideal. And skiing in tight trees wasn't a problem for me. You can not go wrong with these!

Nice , thanks guyss! Anybody hear anything or know how the pettitor is, i can get em for 400 or 350... I was thinkin about goin for that deal but i wont if its trash

Magic j for the most float but jjs will turn quicker in the trees. I have a lot of armadas skis but almost every time grabbed my magic js for every day use. They do seem very wide but coming off the Solomon rockers I don't think you would have a problem. I think you should ask yourself if you want to make tighter tree turns and still float good and rip up the groomers as well or charge straighter with the magic js with better float but still rip up the rest of the mountain
