i have some free tickets that i just found out i had, im thinking about heading up this weekend, does anyone know if there is park setup? thanks.

yo kevin come on, with the weather we've had lately, the only way i think it may be decent is if we get some of that snow tomorrow...

jiminypeak.com has all their info. i saw no checks next to their parks.

while we are on the subject, does anybody know how their early season biking is and why it starts in late may? i thought almost all the snow would be gone already and theyd be open for summer stuff by early may

yea i checked the site and the park doesnt have checks but i was wondering if there were rails setup anywhere on the mountain

if they are chill they might let you set your own shit up. i was at butternut on closing day and i pulled a rail out of the woods and set it up in the park. the most negative response i got from the staff was "i dont think your allowed to do that but i dont care. if someone tells you to not do that, tell them its the last day and to suck my nuts"

jiminy is pretty gay about stuff like that but i have free tickets so i dont care if they kick me out but i would rather not have to set stuff up.

sometimes theyll set up a box or rail at the bottom but they dont consider it a park...kinda gotta go and see though, i dont think you could figure that out on the internet.

Information:

Operating hours are 9 am - 4 pm Thursday through Sunday. We will have some Park features set up on Friday for the weekend.

from the snow report.^

Did u hear about the new park plan.. the old intermediat park is goign to be the new one..and its gunna go into that bump section trail at the bottom.. but i heard the rail jam park is gunna get a magic carpet... and they bought new rails( due to the fact that they ran the rest over)

lol.. just like they were going to redesign coyote ridge with some nice set ups (conversation with donny in march)jiminy peak's main problem is park staff sucks.. they dont know how to set up rails.. the rollercoaster was backwards, the inruns were always so small and there was never any landings. they built a dirtbike double as a jump last year.. it was 3ft tall and was like 35ft for a gap.. they obviously have no idea what a terrain park is. They always have their takeoff short and no kick.. and the landings are always like 10ft long. they need to pay attention to what other parks are setting up and how they set it up.

Here is an example of what i mean:

dude i want you to try to set up a park worthy of a resort when the mountain doesnt give you any snow and not even enough time in the cat to do a decent job grooming every night. the park staff obviously knows how to make legit features when theres enough time/snow involved. if you dont think so go to a rail jam.

^ jimney's park crew blows. i have never ever seen one of them rake shit out or fix a jump. their QP was useless, and as others stated, roller coaster backwards, jump take offs are tiny, with too big of gaps for the size and short ass landings. The park crew chills in their hut all day and takes turns checking ridge passes. The medium park didn't exist this year, and apparently they ran over a bunch of rails with a groomer, so their all busted. From what i've heard, the groomer doesn't listen to the p-crew guys about setup, and screws a lot up. Their rail park had the 40 foot rainbow and the up box, the only fun features. their 2 foot jump, has no landing what so ever, not that i really care but its rediculous.

if your not happy that the park crew sits at the top of the park and checks passes, then suggest to jiminy peak that they hire people for that job, and to allow their park rangers to do rounds and to rake things out. checking park passes is simply what management has decided to use their park rangers for. as for jump takeoffs, as i said try building one with no snow. plus the park crew doesnt build the jumps anyways.

agreed, but when you have 4-6 guys chillen at the top on saturday and sunday afternoons just sitting in the hut, we have a problem. one, max of 2 sit outside and check passes. the other 4, i dunno, smoke blunts maybe all day?

indeed. i was not around jiminy for most of the winter, but would you agree that most of the jumps were beyond being fixable by handwork? (i was there in feb, they were shitty) at a certain point, when being paid minimum wage, it seems there is a tendency to flag in the face of futility.

the only reason it isnt that good there

is cause there park crew

and most junps suck

and the boxes arnt the good

and the rails are rly rustyy

you and i both wish that they even had more than six guys working at one single time, the truth of the matter is, that there are only two guys who work a shift sometimes one, therefore nothing gets done, it also doesnt help that the groomer usually never grooms park so he messes everything up. it just isnt a good... but next year calls for some new rails thank god, hopefully a couple long flat rails, that would be nice, BUT there were times that jiminy did pull through and show what they could really bring out, now this is when all of the park staff was working a couple of the rail jams, the set ups where quite nice, but just never stayed or where never moved into the big park like they said would happen

true, jiminy has pulled through a few times, and produced some sick setups, mostly in the rail jam. hopefully new rails will bring new and better park crew/groomers.

give management the feedback that they need to give their park crew the opportunity to do real things with their park. once there is stuff set up there isnt even enough time to groom, let alone build or change anything. the reason why the rail jam setups can be good is becauce thats the only time the park staff gets an entire day to build, and the only time theres like 5 of them.
