Jiberish Summer '12 Collection

My bad. I personally really enjoy Jiberish as a brand and have seen it change quite a bit over the years. In order for a company to expand, it's gotta generate some more income and appeal to a wide audience. Where they are now, in my opinion, is a kind of niche between street wear and ski/snowboard wear. I personally do favor some of the older prices as opposed to some of the new prices, but that's because they were unique and were made in extremely limited numbers. If every kid was walking around in a Sleeper I have a feeling it wouldn't be as "cool" anymore... Anyways, if I could change two things: 1) make less of each piece ( Exept that's difficult when you're trying to expand) 2: think back to 08/09 year and incorporate simple and unique designs that could apeal more to the ski/boarder side (other than the lo hi hoody). Hope I didn't sound like an asshole or anything.

i want to see this so bad. delorme IS skiing to me. doing his own thing, hauling ass around the park w so much control its ridiculous.

the paisley doesnt really look like anything 'preme has done, more like rip n dip (who also got panned for "ripping off supreme") supreme's paisley camps were far less "loud"

I never said they looked bad, I like them and they will be a better fit and price than most other 5 panel hats. I was just referring to the pattern on them, when I think of 5 panels I think of ones like Only NY has which are just solid colors. The print on them just reminded me of supreme.

sorry for dub post, but thought those pics were all rip n dip, didn't see Jiberish are the ones straight copying shit. FUCKING DEAD, R.I.P Jiberish

"We have been at it since 2005. As a clothing label started at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, we have constantly been reminded to blend our personal style with functionality, aware of the elements to which our clothing is exposed.

Available only in the finest boutiques and through the most trusted online retailers, Jiberish is currently sold in 16 countries worldwide. At the center of this network are the Jiberish LoHi and the Jiberish Vault stores which have become places for us to interact with our customers directly and to test new concepts. What started off as a creative endeavor between friends has now developed into an Internationally recognizable brand with a constantly evolving collection. Throughout all of our growth we have kept our distribution extremely tight, focusing on only the best stores in each market."

I liked it better when it said something alongs the lines of "designed by skiers for skiers" jiberish is goin down the shitter.

agreed. They need to find a better balance between trying to make street wear and continuing to make ski wear. Most of their market is based off of skiers i assume so they need to find a way to keep making them happy as well

thats the thing, they cant get very big with only a market of skiiers. they need to appeal to a wider range of people

thats why i think they need to find a balance. I accept the fact they cant market only to skiers, but they should still make so sick sweatshirts like their old ones for skiers in the winter drops as well as street wear

^hahahahaha i knew i recognized that blue jiberish hat's print from somewhere

come on jiberish, really? what ever happened to your designs being 1 of a kind

Shit is a disgrace, no originality. At least companies like Supreme acknowledge it. I guess it is true, Lead or follow...

Jiberish sucks now sorry to say it. Some stuff I still like but I cant see myself buying any jiberish anymore. Ill stick with my broken stripes, fruit and orbs and bird is the word.

Honestly, Newschoolers should boycott Jiberish...

It would be very easy to do and they would either do what we want or tell us to fuck off, and I'd be happy with either result at this point because at least we would know we are no longer their target demographic

Balance is making shit in 4XL...do you see many other street wear brands with 36" hoodies and/or tall fit in general?

Supreme (since it's been coming up a lot) for example only makes up to XL, which for their hoodies is just a tad longer than a L Jib hoodie, while being nearly as wide as a 3XL Jib pullover. They keep their long tall cut to cater to their skier/skater/boarder/whatever market

I like the direction jiberish is moving. They have a nice little market in both streetwear and skiing. If you dont like it, then dont buy it.

Can't argue w/ that ^^^ as I've never owned both. but regardless, Jiberish is the only street wear brand that I know of making anything in huge sizes like they do

Honestly, this whole summer collection is going to be streetwear only. This means that if you're not into streetwear, then this thread simply isn't for you. I'm sure the guys at jiberish like hearing your guys' input about the direction of the brand, but this thread isn't going to be useful if every picture from the summer line gets criticized by people who don't like/don't understand the streetwear industry. Not trying to come across as rude or anything.

well you see, what we are unhappy with is the fact that Jiberish says in their motto that this is a company that is "for skiers by skiers," and unfortunately it appears as though they are straying from that root motto and loosing their uniqueness. idk maybe im wrong

how can you possibly say that when the people who are criticizing know more about streetwear then you do? It's not like I'm in here shitting on them with no knowledge of anything. Point is they aren't unique anymore. Jiberish now has proven to be just biting off other peoples shit who run the streetwear game. Jiberish as a company now is just following the trying to follow the lead, and losing momentum real quick.

to design those 5 panels i think they went to the oldest houses they could find, got samples of the wallpaper and threw it on a hat. god those are so ugly

they should have half the line be this streetwear shit that has a normal fit and half the line be what they used to do with colorful designs that cover a good part of the piece and have them be tall sizing. everyone would be happy yay

sorry to dub post. but when i said they need a balance earlier i meant this. i didnt mean that they need 4xl streetwear pieces

To say that jiberish is not unique is a very false and inaccurate statement. Jiberish is a growing streetwear brand that is now trying to appeal to different groups of people, not just skiers anymore. They collaborate with a small group of very unique and talented artists and musicians, take cues from other streetwear brands, and support the ski/snowboard/ industries. Sure they're branching off in a new direction now, but that does not make them any less unique.

I don't get this. From the way I see it Jiberish does have a balance. They have a unique tall fit to their Ts and hoodies and jackets. During the winter they put out a bunch of heavier hoodies and jackets (cuz it's cold...), during the warmer months they put out a few lighter zip ups or crews and more Ts and sweaters and shit. The only stuff they don't make w/ a tall fit is stuff that would look silly that way, like the windbreakers or coaches jackets or button downs. Idk seems to me they keep that balance with their tall fit

Personally I'm stoked for for the Spring Drop. If you compare Jiberish's Spring drop from last to this years they've really expanded their "style". Not only is it more unique but it has a new feel to the company. Sure their planels may remind people of Supreme but you also have to consider the fact that Jiberish is trying to keep up with whats "hip". Its a new style for them but also a new way for them to expand their buisiness to not just the skiing community but the general young population. Their jackets, tee's, and hats are much more different/stylish/unique compared to last years. My point is that you may or may not hate it but this a new style for Jiberish and that they've expanded their taste throughout the past 6 years and they are simply trying to keep up with our generation.

what I meant by that is what some people may refer to what is but others have a differnt way of wording it...sorry for confusion
