Jiberish Store Opening in Boston

people need to stop saying burlington and realize that jiberish is clearly trying to move out of the skier only market, which they already are busting out of

I would like if they got beyond the ski market. It would be neat seeing people walking around in an oh what or a nerd

Boston as far as far as major city street wear scenes go is lame. Newbury St. is nothing if you've been to NYC or LA. And Jiberish as a brand is wack and can't compete against other names already out there.

while being a minnesotan i fully support this, i dont think they would put a store in one of the flattest parts of america

May I ask what brands specifically? Jiberish is coming out of an entirely different scene which mixed the culture of skiing with the finesse of streetwear, as far as I know, this is a completely unique standpoint. Jiberish as a brand is necessarily competing with anyone at this point.

I think with the addition of a store in Boston this may change and it may start to turn into somewhat of a skateboard brand and compete with stores and brands such Awol, Bodega, Orchards, etc.

These stores are already well established in Boston, but don't cover the market Jiberish will/does as of right now.

you guys are confused. ill keep it simple. Before Jiberish had a more skiier oriented stance. Now that they are leaving that focus, and moving towards street wear they are losing their followers, and gaining none from the street wear world. As far as "those brands", if you know anything about the street wear realm you would know its already over saturated and al ot of brands don't survive. Based on the s/s drop that just happened, how do you expect them to compete with a strictly street focus from here on out.... point is they won't be able to. There better designs, quality, and fit out there for the same price. And stupid fucks like you think Supreme is the only other street wear brand. LOL

The only sole "streetwear" store in Boston is Bodega as far as I know. All the other stores mostly have strong skateboard influences.

Boston is our homebase. There are some great stores, some of the best actually in NYC, LA, Miami and Vegas but Boston isn't that far behind. We have some lifestyle shops that I'm proud to say are in our city, Laced in the Southend, Bodega, X-Squared, The Tannery, and Concepts to name a few. Selections at all of those stores are sick.

Jiberish like any brand that attracts trendsetters will lose some of those OG dudes that helped get them going. That's true in every industry, especially music.

The street wear industry is over saturated there is no doubt about that, but there are few brands that are making it happen like jiberish. Stoked for Jiberish, they are a great thing for this sport and will do very well with their store in Backbay.

Jiberish aren't making street wear happen. They'll be lucky to survive imo if they change there focus completely, which they seem to already be doing. Bodega is aiteee, but minor in the game. I guess well just have to see how it goes....

i know it may sound selfish, but does anyone have the feeling that i do, which is that you dont want them to leave the skier only market? for some reason i just feel connected and part of a select group and when i think about them moving out of the current skiing market it just unsettles me

Omg, ur rite boston shopping is lame. NYC all day, shop til you drop, buy lots of expensive clothes...am i rite or am i write??

if you didn't see on their Facebook page they made a sick table out of 100 year old oak and they're putting it into the store. looks pretty fresh to me.

Hoffman is stupid as fuck for thinking there aren't any legit shops in Boston.

Karmaloop is like one of the biggest urban streetwear dealers in the world and they're based out of boston, not to mention Bodega, Concepts, The Tannery, Riccardi and many other fresh as shit shops.

Riccardi only slings the classiest of shit if your wallet aint fat enough you're obviously gonna complain.

Jiberish will do fine in Boston, there are plenty of kids on the east coast willing to support it and it will open the market to the Newbury St locals

no way dawg! i think I got the same white T but in white at this boutique in soHo. 'cept mine was actually $230, so it surely must be whiter than urz/.
