I don't think the current business plan will work. I admire where the company is coming from, I don't ski clothing because for the most part, its is just a dyed t with a logo slapped on. However, that's what sells. People buy ski clothing to be associated with a sub-culture, and it is through brand image that they become associated with said sub-culture. It is not through fit, style, fabric, colour, or contrast that the association is derived. It seems that jiberish is trying to come differentiate themselves by focusing on the aforementioned criteria. I realize that this has become successful in the past with such brands as volcom but I think this is because of a large shop presence, a wide arrange of products and a larger base of appeal. There are very, very few people in skiing who actually care enough about fashion to purchase pieces of clothing that are sick by themselves and those that do, most likely will turn to other brands with a broader range of products (ie, not hoodies and T's).

That being said, I really appreciate what you're doing. I like the baby blue/dark brown print.

i don't quite get what you mean. why wouldn't someone want a unique and quality piece of clothing. as you said, very few companies in the ski industry actually make clothing you can wear off the hill that is high quality. jiberish's items fit like nothing i've ever worn. the fabrics are one of a kind, and they're not just throwing on a simple logo. not to mention that this year's entire line is already almost sold out... next year they have distribution through some large, non-skiing influenced sites where you will be seeing jiberish next to companies such as lrg, zoo york, and many other brands. once you try on one of their garmets you'll be shocked. and this wan't supposed to be in opposition to you sushi guy. i already forgot what your username is, just wanted to state my opinion. sickkkk.

Actually i think that jiberish is filling a void in the industry right now, and theyll likely mop it up. No one else is making hoodies marketed at us which look this good, theres a demand for this product.

exactly. it is one thing if they only sold to skiers, but they are a company that brings our community to others outside of our sport. That is why it will work. it is clothing that anyone would like, not just skiers. it is just too dope.

karmaloop.com wants jiberish bad. and i am honored this coming season to work alongside Matt Yerman, who has already shown me some mocks for next years shit, which i must say made my jaw drop to the keyboard.

kinda along side what clarke said, even though he smells... the draw to jiberish is that it isnt a kid who thought up a cool name one day while he was high and got basic T's and Hoodies screen printed. its quality stuff run by a guy who knows what he wants to do, has artists and designers who are amazing and a team that slays. the only Jiberish hoodie I ever wore is amazing, by far the best quality and looking hoodie from any ski or non ski company. posting on this gay site doesnt do it justice, go try one on, you will want it, and i dont ride for them, i am unbiased, take my word for it...

If the company is attempting to branch out beyond the ski community, I believe this is a better model for success. I was just pointing out that the immediate ski community, and this website in particular, is not the appropriate market. The realm is highly competitive, best of luck guys.

Just a quick question, where are the garments produced? I saw some work being done in the video, was this consumer product or just first-runs & prototypes?

Appreciate the stoke for sure, and we welcome constructive criticism too. Any questioning of our direction just helps us target better what you all want. That said, we will always push new directions with our company too.

To clear a few things up, we are and will always be originally rooted in skiing and snow sports. That is one of the many passions Pete, Dave and I share and this is our FAM. There are people who will buy and wear our clothing though who are not newschool skiers, so we are not going refuse to sell to them! Our hope is to drive people outside of our target to learn about Jiberish and newschool skiing while pushing our target market to learn about some of our other interests (music, art, clothing, etc). ...truly a non-sensical collaboration of passions in our lives...gibberish if you will.

Sorry for the tangent. To answer the question above the video clip you are referring to was filmed in Denver at our manufacturing facilities. These were clips from production of our consumer product and full 06/07 line of cut and sew garments available now.

I am ready for a company like this. I tried on a jiberish track style top with the shock cord feel material. God damnnn.
