Jiberish Making It

once the swaggots pick up on this, i won't have to make fun of mommy funded skiers and swagfags seperately. they'll all pretty much be the same group

personally i liked where they were in their 09/10 line. they seem to have drifted further away from the skiing community and towards the street wear community, which is fine if that's where they want to be.

I just dont understand what would kill them to dabble into both though, I would certainly buy stuff like that from jiberish.

it's not like the demand went down over here.... i would love a new line with sizing, fit, designs, etc similar to 08-10 lines

They wanted to progress their brand, and expand their market. It is much more profitable to sell streetwear than "skier only" types of clothes.

i think it is worth mentioning that pete has always reaffirmed that if he were in it for the profit he could just mass produce all of the clothing

As years change so do trends. Just look at snowboarding, skiing will follow suit. The trends are going more towards tighter fitting, almost streetwear style clothing. I think Jiberish is still something skiers and snowboarders will continue to wear, but with their new approach, they have the opportunity to really establish themselves in the streewear community.

sucks balls, bet none of the swaggots who will buy their stuff will even know why it's called Jiberish...

The decent from the awesome, unique and original pieces to just another

(albeit higher quality) line of logo tees/hoodies and higher end

streetwear has been a loss for me. Still, id rather rep Jiberish than

any of the others out there, and all the best to the guys in whatever

direction they want to take their company and hitting that bigger market.

I am really hating the direction jiberish is going. But, its all about profits and just expensive streetwear is way more profitable than skiing clothes.

Hater gon hate. I love the direction jiberish is going. No more garish designs and obnoxious color blocking. This isn't 2008 anymore, being a skittle isn't cool.

Relevant to OP. The day jiberish becomes a big name street brand is the day I stop buying it.

I think I've liked about 6 articles of clothing from Jiberish since I've heard of them in 09. Most of it just looks like garbage anyways...

I still can't understand why people genuinely care about Jiberish switching focuses. You could always just be proud that this brand you supported from the jump is making it, but fashion isn't static. It won't always stay the same. Choose a different brand if you can't handle these changes.

Omg jiberish has changed so much omg I'm breaking up with them there's a reason I only own like 10 hoodies of theirs and it's from two years ago their old stuff is so much better omg lmfao stupid swaggots don't even get where the brand came from they should just make huge 4xl only so that I can wear dresses and call it a hoodie.

It used to be a pretty big deal when you found used Jiberish on NS, It was even cooler when you could buy new stuff from them when they would sell out the day of a drop. just ain't like that no mo, i'm not a fan of the new stuff.

09/10 line was the best

i really like the direction they are heading! i ordered 2 things from this drop and would love to buy more. however, i do wish they kept what started them in mind. maybe only a couple sweatshirts per drop that were skier in mind designed. there has to be some middle ground to high quality street wear and skier wear. they still do all these collabs with ski companies but looking at their most recent drop, im not even sure if i would associate them with skiing anymore. IMO

I still love my dripset blue and wear it all the time. Its kind of faded over time but its one of my favorites. Im not super crazy about the newer stuff though

just looked at their website, how do you expect me to ski in this shit?

and they're around 100 dollars??!?

I looked at their website and saw nothing that i would ski in or ever really wear.. I've seen some of their old stuff for sale in the Sell/trade forums tho and it looks sick!

While I'll agree that that stuff would look horrible to ski in, do you think they are obligated to make only ski clothing? The freeskiing industry doesn't have a lot of room for high profit due to the rather small crowd, so why wouldn't they branch out into men's fashion which has a much much larger market?

Well I bought one of those fifty two dollar hats. Some might call it crazy, but I know I won't be buying another hat in a long time be it from jiberish or another company. It's a fucking nice hat. And it being one of the things they had made here in the USA is pretty cool. Buying American when you can is a huge plus. I really wish they would move the rest of their production state side. It really bummed me out when I saw the made in China sticker in my other hat I ordered. Other than that, good for them. They are becoming what they wanted to be. And by the looks of the price tag, the swagfags are going to have a harder time talking their mom and dad into buying it from them. It might even make it so that it is kept in a much more select range of stores. I doubt the day will come where you can find it in a Zumiez.

This.

#1 All the people on here that say streetwear or whatever is more profitable are making a false correlation. I bet anything if you asked to see a demographic of who buys Jiberish over half of it would be skiers and people on NS. Streetwear or not, that's where they're getting their money from. No matter what they make, people on here will buy it and thats okay.

#2 It's not innovative what they're doing. I bought a hoodie last year and might this year if the second drop is better. But please don't call it innovative.

The 4XL has shrunk a few inches over the past two years, it's getting too short for a 6'2" guy like myself to wear on hill.

It's a different line called "Work in progress". They actually have some surprisingly cool stuff, just expensive...
