it's because I started working in the store the week after SNL had that skit that parodies the ICP infomercial, and that skit had a character named ass dan, and I was the first person named Dan Pete encountered after seeing the skit, and am now called Ass Dan on occasion. not a nickname I would choose, but if you want to get through life without self destructing, then you have to roll with the punches.
