yea i got to dissagree man it still takes skills to do rails and shit.. so what if ur not touch snow who cares its still fun and still a big part of sking in my mind

 
i kinda agree with ice because ya know were both from little cottonwood canyon *alta/snowbird* and if you rode here everyday you would see rails and think there kinda dumb, but i have no problem going in the park when theres nothing else to do, rails are super fun when you get into it, but from the outside its kinda dumb, if that makes any sense

I would rather do "real" skiing than rails, but I can't. I live in atlanta, so all I have is rails. All I can do is put a tarp out, put water and soap on it, and slide a rail I made. For those of us that don't live in places that are blessed with good snowfall and terrain, we have to use what we have. And to challenge ourselves, we have to use rails.

Imagine the ns outcry if u(lateralis) were banned. There would be countless threads and petitions to bring u back, it would be like when treadway got banned from whistler. Someone would probably make and sell 'Free Lateralis' stickers and shit. -j
 
I agree with ice is scary to a certain degree.. yes there are a breed of skiers that copy gorilla steeze way too much and if they skied outta the park they wouldnt be able to link 2 turns together..this is true. But since when is progression bad?? Sliding on a rail isnt skiing? Good call, most of the time people dont ski on thin pieces of metal, but doing a sick 270 or 450 off and landing onto snow..im pretty sure thats skiing and its moving in the right direction. Don't be so judmental

yeah i always finding myself 270 on or off of most rails unless i havnt hit it b4 or its like a down handrail or like a c-bow

sorry for having an opinion, and all you little kids who can't even spell can stop pming me with the "fuckigncocckserefagasspieceofshit you cant ski blagvlahblah" I dont read them so don't waste your time. I just think jibbing is boring and pointless, if you wanna sit around and slide a metal rail hike up and do it all over again all day while your hunched over like a monkey copying some pro in a jibmovie you watched last night, be my guest. I'm just saying I think it's boring, yeah I'm sure I could make it more challenging by trying to 270 on 270 off, exc but whats the point of that? It wont make me any better at skiing so why bother? At least when I'm hitting jumps in the park I'm working on air sense and control stuff that can help you charging a tech line with airs in it.

you really disapoint me with this thread Ice-is-scary

its all skiing- thats whats so sick about skiing, there are so many different genres. i personally love skiing powder and tree lines and drops, but if the snow is shitty i head to the park, because its also extremely fun, and guess what i also spend hours hitting urbans rails. and i set up rails in my backyard and hit them, and thats still skiing.

skiing is about fun, not arguing over what is "REALLY SKIING" or not

Granted, I retract my "not really skiing arguement" I just thinks it's pointless, maybe its just not fun for me, and it works your skis.
