jibbing vs skiing

i dont even remember the question

WHO WIPED SPALDINGS FACE OFF !?!?!!!

-saucercerboy

jib or ski ... whatever.... I just ski. That includes both so I guess I support both equally.

I think of jibbing as a part of skiing

Why do you guys say, 'I have to take a shit' when you just leave it there?' JF learning english

they are the same thing. its like your asking what do u like better skiing or skiing??? thats a toughy.

your mamma's a mountain (and sometimes you get spanked) K2skies

'..I am like what the f--k are you talking about. I am a skier..' -eric pollard

I guess maybe a better question would be 'which do you prefer'...some people seem kinda touchy on the word 'supporting'...makes it sound like one or the other sucks. I prefer big mountain skiing...just more freedom, not bound to a couple jumps....you have the whole mountain with cliffs windlips....everythings there. And nothing beats high speed GS turn in deep pow :)

It really depends. If its a shity day without powder i prefer jibbing, but if there's a dump of powder i'm all about the steep and deep.

i dont ski so i deffiently cant say that...but i enjoy both of them equal...it all depends on what kind of day it is too...

my god man....did you see that?????? dont be a bitch..hit the bong

i make snow

warm weather sucks

late,

fish

It's all skiing.

I second that! I just like to ski...if their is a rail I'll slide it, but its still skiing in the end

Unity....... word up!!!

jibbing isn't skiing, jibbins is something to do when dicking around or the snow is shitty. As far as Im concerned if you can't throw it off a cliff then it doesn't count

well, I've been skiing since I was 3, and only been 'jibbing' for a little over a year... gee, I wonder what I love more. SKIING. I mean, if you didn't love skiing than you'd get bored just going towards the jib.

Yeah mike_hunt I agree - I've been skiin for about 12 years (I'm 15 now) and I just learned to do a 360 now. Unfortunately, the only very challenging thing for me in MN (besides ice) is doin jumps so I spend a lot of time in the park hittin jumps.

you gotta remember though - a 360 is not jibbing, a grab is not jibbing. Jibbing is strictly rails, boxes, stalls, and anything else you can slide on/over etc...

SKIING! I like big mtn and air, Pow and cliffs. I don't really even like rails......but whatever.....its all good.

To me its all a part of skiing. If you got a pair of skis on your feet and you are sliding on them at one point of time your skiing.

This is kind of off the subject, but I think that one of the all around resorts- Whistler or Mammoth maybe, should do a contest where you start at the very top of the mt and choose a line and then you get to a slopestyle course with rails and all the good stuff and then a halfpipe. Also, have a really tech skier cross course only your still going by yourself. And maybe, although im not a big fan, throw some moguls in too. Now that would be an all around contest. Everthing in one.

You'd need to have a section with gates that started at slalom and opened up into downhill too.

Drunk, hooked on crack, lying in the gutter curled around my skis in the fetal position wearing nothing but the head of a chicken suit.

Damn I hate fall.

I like both. I jib when I ski, do spins off of moguls, grind logs in the trees, try flips in the pow. I rarely ski a whole day without jibbing or jib a whole day without skiing.

cheers!

Why do they have to be exclusive? Jibbing is fun after lift hours and on park days, but I ain't gonna go Jib a handrail if theres powder yaknowhatimean?! I will jib a tree though in powder...hang on...I'm getting confused...

I haven't done this in a while but this is a dumb thread. Actually, it's threads like this that make our sport look weak. When you look at other sports, do you see the hardcore segmentation? No. Snowboarding is snowboarding, skateboarding is skateboarding, surfing is surfing.

NS, stop these stupid, stupid threads because here's the truth: Skiing is the oldest and original action sport. If you want to debate style and tricks, that's one thing but comparing one kind of skiing to the other is pointless.
Take pride in your sport. Don't trivialize it to dribble.

I realize this is a bump and that rant was is in reference to the threads that have spawned up since this bump and are created on a daily basis.

i could be wrong, but from spending five minutes on yobeat, it seems like snowboarding is like 10000x more divided than freeskiing. mountain biking, too.

JIBBING IS PART OF SKIING.

POWDER IS PART OF SKIING.

JUMPS ARE PART OF SKIING.

GROOMERS ARE PART OF SKIING.

SKIING IS SKIING.

PARK RATS ARE SKIERS.

POWDER HOUNDS ARE SKIERS.

OLD GUYS GOING REALLY SLOWLY DOWN GROOMERS ARE SKIERS.

ASIAN TOURISTS ARE SKIERS.

ANYONE ON SKIS IS SKIING.

honestly if the snow isn't at least shin deep I don't like "skiing"

Both are for fairies though, sledding is where it's at.
