JIB FEST in MINNESOTA - Mankato

Flying Penguin Outdoor Sports in Mankato, Minnesota is throwing an open-ride jib fest, starting at 1:00 Sunday afternoon on the 21st of October.

Free to ride for the first couple of hours.  Competition will start after that with a small entry fee. $5-$10

Cash prizes if we get enough riders, otherwise other prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Come and ride!  Anyone is welcome.  We'll have a good time!

a couple notes:

like just about every other pre season jam you've been to - helmets are required

the set up is a flat-down-flat box

I will not be attending this rail jam this year either unfortunately.
 
i dont want to drive who is going to come pick me up? steve its been a year since we took a little road trip?
 
I am going to do a 2.2 hour drive to wait in a 30 minute line to climb some scafolding to hit a box about 6 or 7 times depending on the length of the line... This is cool!
 
yeah, i forgot to add the 2.2 hour drive back home. thats like 4.4 hours on the road for 6 or 7 hits on a box. add it together with the wait time of 30 minutes for each run and you get more than an hour of waiting for each run... plus it's sketchy...
 
The rail jam will be back at the shop like it was 2 years ago.

Last year some slut from the msu ski and snowboard club was in charge of the rail jam and she didn't get shit done so at the last minute they took my rail. This year there's a new guy in charge and he's pretty on top of things. He's been working his ass off to make this rail jam a lot better than last years. Most of the ski sponsors aren't confermed yet. As for the box, I don't have any pics yet but I'll try to get some. I don't know if you remember the box from 2 years ago, but it's pretty much that box with an extra flat added to the end. Don't let last year's flop discourage you from coming this year.
 
Why so much hate on there comp, janky or not, I don't see you organizing throwing one... but anyway me and K.B. Thornberg will be attending. :)
 
haha, word, i remember when we went like 2 or 3 years ago, and the kid in front of me fell off the drop in...and landed on his head and somehow didnt get hurt
 
HAHA! No. Mazel Tov is a Hebrew(Jew)/Yiddish word meaning Good Luck or Congratulations. and No, I do not think I am going to Mankato.
 
Because I might have to work, I have a very UN-fuel efficient vehicle, and cant afford it. Good enough for ya?

the box is a little different than i thought - it's still a flat down flat, but it isn't the one from two years ago and i haven't seen it yet.
