what is a good basic jib design? i'm gonna try to build my first one this summer and i just wanna get the basic one down before i try anything crazy

its all good man, we were all new to this once. what kind of jib do you mean? as in a rail for a set up? what most people, including myself use are pvc pipes, they slide well and are pretty durable, and easily replaceable if broken (mine has never broken after two years). just get two of those and put them together screwed to a stand for them and you have a nice flat shot gun rail.
