yea just went down today, back in the hotel. Just wanted to say congrats to charlie for winning! have fun in mammoth man... the skiing was sweet but it rained for a little while. learned alot forsure tho..

a jam format on a slopestyle course if that makes sence.

props to nick and all the coach's to.

i have to miss it when it comes to hood, but i don't really mind cuz i get to go to Park City instead. sounds super fun though
 
jib academy is wack i watched the kid in the green throw down sw 9's mistys sw 7's trucks mutes sw ups 4's out pretzels you name it and didn't even place because he's from out of town and kind of a shy person and it's a fucking popularity contest...it's bullshit
 
Dude, that kid was good but fell alot in the finals, and alot of it is about consitancy. Also its not only the tricks you do but how you make them look, skiing isnt just about hucking you need to have style aswell. The kids skied well, but the others skiers clearly didnt think he deserved to win, and thats what the best part about Jib Acdemy is, the results are rider chosen. If you dont like the format you dont need to do it, but for a free entry, tons of free stuff, a good time, and a chance to win a trip to mammoth, i would say the Jib Academy's are some of the best events out there. And skiing is a popularity contest... your personality counts! thats the way it works, it takes more to be a pro skier than just having the tricks... 
 
Even though i'm 21, jib academy was way sick. It was really dope watching hathaway and martini ski. I hope they had a good time at our mountain and spread some good vibes about it. I thought that Brain (kid in the green) maybe shouldn't have won but definatly should have placed. But Charlie Owens (winner) is a super sick skier, he has so much style. I wish he could have pulled that Rodeo 450 disaster i saw him do at the beginning of the season..'twas mind boggling. Check the top rated pictures for a picture of it. Word to Salomon and Word to all the coachs and thanks a ton to ATP crew, the park was definatly on point.
 
yea! on its way to duluth!!!! when will we be seein these guys that are all spanzeratized you think? friday or just saturday? or thursday friday saturday?
 
I had sooo much fun! Lemme know who u were there I want to friend request some of you and thank others for the help. I my self am Kellen Schroeter prbly better know as Florida at the Jib academy, I was rocking the grey jacket and white pants.

Yes the three kids that placed were locals but the coaches made it pretty clear the judging is not only on skill, wether that realy is fair or not I can not say. But how about that 10 year old killing it?! So dope!
 
skiing in jib academy yesterday was one of the most fun days ive skied all year, i saw almost every kid progressing and learning new stuff even though the format was different from most comps i still thought it was pretty good and hey im not complaing different is good sometimes. and salomon is the shit and definately hooked everyone up with something!!!
 
well said.. but for such a big prize to win, it shouldnt be completly based by what the fans think. Charlie deserved it forsure... but if u just had abunch of your friends to vote for u even if u didnt do good isnt right. the coach's should be the judges going 50/50 with the crowd.
 
Man i agree with Nick. I competed and placed into the final, but even

if i hadn't i wouldn't have cared. The Jib Academy at App was one of

the best days of skiing i have ever had. The experience was awesome

and i thought that everyone who placed absolutely killed it. Props to

the coaches and Solomon for the event. Good luck Charlie-
 
Jib academy was sick. Wish I wasn't too old. Got to watch some sick kids throw down and meet a bunch of new people. Props to everybody. such a sick event.
 
Jib academy was so dope. I don't understand how you could think anything else about a contest that is completely free for riders. That kid was really good but, i heard he won jib acamady last year and was already sponsered by soloman. The kid who got 4th was ten years old and hitting rails taller than him. Toney who got 3rd killed it and probably had one of the best additudes out there, not to mention was in need of a pair of skis more than anyone(hes been riding on 2 different skis all season cuz he doesnt have a matching pair.) Berkly (2nd place) straight up killed it in the final comp, and owen's has got the sickest style at the mountain and hasn't stoped talking about how bad he wanted jib acamdey all year. Honestly jib academy is probably the sickest thing to ever come to app and i give props to all the pros who came all the way down to our shitty little mountain.
 
Nice upbeat article. Everyone under 16 and on the east coast should find their way down to Sno Mountain on March 8th
 
i guess saying jib academy was wack is a very ignorant statement......because i had a lot of fun last year when i did it....i guess i'm not a fan of the judging but whatev it's all good :) hopefully they make it 18u so i can do it next year

^that must be brian haha, but thats not true, Charlie deserved it, hes been workin so hard prior to jib academy, and he stomped all his shit also he is very steezy and is great eye candy while skiing. Charlie hit the jamp numerous times and trew down and had a lot of sick rail runs, the kid in the green hit the jump constantly and fell a few times, and only took one rail run congrats to Charlie have fun in Mamoth ATP represent.
 
i kinda laugh thinkin about all these good ol' southern boys spittin there dip and shit before they get ready to hit the jump.

sounds like you guys take what you got and make the best out of it no matter what, so i respect you guys and thats mad legit. so ya'll have a good time cow tippin and fuckin good lookin church goin ladies.
