i would say JF is the man and to say he hasn't progressed makes me sick. not only did he start the whole damn thing but he's still got one of the best styles. he was one of the first to throw the 360 mute, switch back, back flip japan, switch 7's, switch rodeo (13), bios, rodeos and flatspins both natural and unnatural...the ignorance of some people in here is unreal

You idiots, like was said above. His progression isn't based on his movie segements. Unless you ski with JF on a daily basis dont say he hasn't progressed, cause how the fuck would you know?

i dont ski with him on a daily basis but i still think he isnt progressing as fast as he used to or nearly as fast as all the other pros. just because he can do natural and unatural flat spins doesnt mean hes progresing that much thats just one trick. and dont start fucking calling me an idiot its my opinion, ill kill you

God bless JF Cusson. The man is a hero to everyone who skis... he drinks way too much.. he rarely leaves his bed before noon... practices next to never and still kicks ass. Whether he is doing the newest fad trick I don't care.. he has raw natural talent that is unparalleled. If you don't love him for who he is at least respect him

 
in my opinion JF kills it, i dont know all the tricks he can do, but the ones ive seen him do are so stylied its insane, even in sick sense when the NCAF was just getting started he was pulling cool crap like 360s with double japan/stalefish grabs, he rocks

There are only 2 skiers out there that I get excited when I meet them and want their autograph and shit... one is Plake... and the other is JF. that guy fucking invented our sport. he skis less than anyone... but just goes out and kills it every time... I don't give a fuck about comp results or little movie segments... he is SICK. more talent than anyone. yes... I am JF's pro hoe... and no I wasn't drunk when I made this thread... and Denise made us late to meet with charles at the rail.... so we didn't find him and we couldn't slide it. :( meh. next week.

...and once again, my last post is referring to the past couple of years. all ive seen out of him are flatspins(unnaty as well), and some other stuff. but maybe i AM wrong, maybe he only throws the sick shit down when there isnt a film crew or a photo shoot. i mean, that would make the most sense anyways, right? who wants to showcase their sickest tricks when they can simply throw second best for the camera? but who knows, i dont ski with him everyday

no one has answered the underline question- if newschool isnt about stylie and prgressional tricks then what is it about? and yes, i know that big mountian skiing is about skiing sick lines, and i know what racing is, etc.

Newschool is skiing, it is about skiing and every aspect that is involed. Whether you in the park, on a big mountain line or on a blue groomer there is style and talent involved in all of them.

Also I'm sick of this shit that if JF did something good it would be in a movie or you would hear about it. That is just stupid. Notice how Pep has relatively big parts in Front Line and Happy Dayz, but neither of them have one of his switch flat 9's, which was like the trick everyone mentioned with his name this year.

Jonny probably had 10 times or more footage of JF that didn't make Happy Dayz, why, segemtn length, editing, lighting, angle. Vids aren't just about going and standing beside some hit with a camera and saying 'alright huck something huge'. The shots that were used in his segment were the ones that turned out the best, not his most progressive tricks.

Some people in the ski and snowboard industry film with a certain company for the most part of a season only to have 2 or 3 shots in the video, some dont get any. So dont base his progression on video and film segments! Do you understand now?

No no one is a 'newschool' skier. Were all just skiers. I wonder if in like 10 focking years people will still be calling this newschool.

It's been around for like 6 or 7 years now, it's not new anymore, it just skiing. If anything that other stuff is oldschool now and what were doing is just skiing, not newschool.
