i almost got a 1996. but instead i got a 1987 BMW 325i. i don;t regret it one bit! but i am sure a jetta would be good too. the only thing is that in order to get one with an airbag you have to get a 1996 plus becuase VW was a cheapass and didn;t put them in their cars till then
