Jetta or golf?

dotn get the 2.slow thats a slow ass engine. i would get the jetta for sure. def not a chick car. is the golf a 99.5? you dont want a mkII VW. thats the model before the new ones. shitty cars. if it has oval headlights your good. still go jetta. moon roof wont be a problem.

not that im saying civics are good, but the new civic si has 200 hp

golf's seem like gay chick cars that daddy buys them.get a jetta those can look sick and look like a real car. i plan on getting a manual vr6 jetta soon

 
I drive a black jetta, it's sweet x 10.

I say go for the jetta because you have more passenger room, and the trunk is HUGE. Higher capacity for storage makes it hella easier to move from place to place. i.e. I move every 4-8mos for school and I can pack my life into my jetta, that includes a mtn bike, a road bike and skis.

my family has 2 diesel golfs and a diesel jetta and i can fit more stuff in the golf, it also gets slightly better mileage and it has a surprizing amount of room on the inside

Jetta = mondo trunk space for skiing..

I put a CAI into a 2001 jetta not too long ago. It was the biggest pain EVER.

that GTI homie put a pic of is a 337 gti special edition with 210 hp ;) and jettas are for girls. unless its a Gli or a coupe and i think you should get the golf more fun to drive and more room. the "2.slow" is omething someone who doesnt know shit calls the ABA 2 liter engine its very tunable and very reliable. LEather is cool but just kind of a hassel if your going to be skiing and stuff, anyways take it form me i've owned 4 dubs and currently i'm building a 92' golf that will OWN all these fools cars., my other car is an 01 s4 so homie with the A4 can suck on deez nuts, get the golf its a better car for you.

 
actually i did test drive a 2002 a4. that shit is so sick. it hugs the road like blaow. its so freakin nice, but it was pretty expensive.

If they're both automatics it comes down to this:

1) Are you paying for gas, and if so, is that a big $ issue? If so, the golf gets better mileage.

2) Do you require lots of space for skiing and other stuff? The jetta will give you more room.

My suggestion:

Instead of buying an '01 or '99 VW, get a '98 or '97 Audi or Volvo. My whole family drives Volvos (I drive an '01), and they are the safest, most reliable and comfortable cars for teenagers to drive. You'll get to the mountian every morning, and you'll get there easily.

thanks for the tip anothermamothpunk, he didnt say it was a mkIII. the mkIII started at 99.5 so he wasnt very clear about that. the 2.0 is slow. its the crappier of engines. you cant compare it with the 1.8t and he said he wasnt going to tweak it out. so i think your stupid, stupid

my bad, from the first post i made and the ones after change the mkII into mmkIII. those are the iffy ones (93 to 99) especially if they are automaitc. the elctronic systems are bunk. mkII are the good ones. they are the old square ones, run like tanks. the newer ones are mkIV. whoops

Jetta, Jetta, Jetta.

That's all I have to say, way more car, and the price isn't that much more and it's newer. Those two extra years on the golf will cost you far more than 4k. Plus, you can pick up chicks with a Jetta, you have to already have them if you're driving a golf.

jettas are weak, but the golf is practically the same car ...just a cooler body style... both cars kinda blow, unless you can find a gti i would go wit the newer jetta-- try to find a jetta 1.8 turbo, sick car totally refined
