jetta is 2001, 14k with 48k miles, leather interior (black; matches outside).

golf is 1999, 10k with 44k miles, cloth interior, black outside.

im trading in another car we hope to get near 9k for. what car is better, both cosmetically and weather wise and best for skiing.

Leather interiors are where people will hate them or love them, no inbetween. But personally, a black Jetta will get you soo much pussy/cock, whatever you prefer.

they are 2.0 litres? I thought they went to the 1.8T in '99. Maybe I'm wrong, but if they have the same engine, i would probably go for the golf, but like the man said, the jetta is more respectable by girls who don't know shit about cars, and will want your penis.

^ exactly. and they aren't in manual, which is a disappointment. the manual ones were actually more expensive by a couple grand because of the other features the cars had.

and another question, how would a moonroof affect the thule ski rack (that silver/grey one that is just two bars that clip up and down). i don't think it would, but if it won't work, im no hands down getting the golf (mr is on the jetta).

ok so i had a 97 golf it was so fuckin sweet, but automatic, and i totalled it in like 4 months

now i drive a 89 jetta gl 5 speed. sweet as hell, either way VWs kick assss

leather is cold? the Jettas have heated seat and you wouldlt really get affected by the leather unless you were ot wearing a shirt. but iw ould rather go for cloth

maybe I didn't make myself clear. im gettin this at a used car dealership thing where my buddy got his vw from (we know its a respectable place). the only option i have are these two because the manual ones are actually more expensive (due to other features and the fact that they are probably 2003's or 2s while the two im looking at are 99 and 01).

jettas are made in mexico, so I'd say go for the golf. But I think it just depends on your personal preference.

I prefer the 6 cylinder, although vw 6 cylinders have a bad reliability reputation.

ok, here is the deal with the two cars. Jetta=golf with a trunk. They are made on the same platform and are basically the same car. My guess is they have the same 2.0 engine, which is VWs baseline engine, not bad, but also not fast at all. I would wait until a 1.8t jetta/golf/gti becomes available because the 1.8t is a great engine. Basically no turbo lag (turbo kicks in at 1800 rpm) and with a chip, about $500, you can boost your engine to about 210HP and 240 lbft tourqe, make it a fast car. But get the car in a manual, or else you might as well get a civic.
