Jesus = Normal Human?

Well, i just saw on the news that they think they found jesus's tomb, and i was thinking that this could prove that he was never resurrected. I wonder what would happen if this happened, proving jesus didnt exist as the son of god, that he was just a normal person. I personally dont understand how people can believe in God, or jesus or any of that shit, but this might be what athiests need to prove it wrong. Discuss...

pets are awsome. For the past couple months I have been researching and plotting so that I can legally domesticate a sloth and have him imported....I even have a plan B if I can't do it legally, or, Im working on it anyways.

Why wouldn't Jesus have a tomb? Jesus was crucified and 'died', put in a tomb to rest. He was then resurrected and ya, so he had a tomb.

i knew NS was the wrong place for this.....but ya, i have a dog named marley, and two sharks, THE BALA KIND!!!! seriously, theyre called bala sharks, google it

yeah thats what i was thinking just cus they think they found his tomb doesnt prove the resurection wrong but i dont believe in that stuff anyway

finaly maybe this will bring the slightest bit of common sense to people and make them deal with the fact they are gonna die and your not gonna live again so they stop wasting their only life worshipping some random guy that got crucified and actualy start living their life

bull shit, i just checked cnn.com and bbc.com. if this story was true it would be the first story on the page, but instead all it said was that anna nichole smiths mom gets the rights to bury her with the family

thats becasue theyre still testing it, and theyre concerned about the reprocutions such a rumor might have, it was on the news on tv though

they still cant really anything unless there is someting inscribed. and even if there is something i bet that still doesnt completely prove it.

But back to pets....

Cats are funny as hell. I'm getting a cat as soon as I get my own apartment. My cat would make me laugh every day.

they can still worship him. people worship elvis for christ's sake. (pun intended)

Just because he wasn't the "son of god" doesn't mean that he wasn't actually a great person that changed the world.

yeah, people believe in Jesus and God as a way of trying to feel comfortable in this world. idk, how I see it is that they just need something stable to help them live.

I dont believe in God and what not, I believe in logic. but if they did find his tomb, it would be very funny to see what the hardcore religious people do.

Ill have to look more into this

I have seen stories like this many times before. And I personally believe in God, but anyone who argues that Christianity didn't change the world should really think for more than 2 seconds and look around.

This was found 27 years ago and was thoroughly debunked back then. The difference with this is that they apparently have 'DNA evidence.' While the technology is different, what DNA do we have to compare the DNA they found in order to prove it was Jesus? If, up till now, there was no descendants of Jesus, there isn't any DNA that they can compare it to.

jea, cept one problem..... he aint there!!!!! its just a tablet that says "judah son of Jesus" supposedly. i say supposedly because in aramaic, "bar" means either son or brother. so it couldve been his brother which i believe he did have.

i have 2 dogs, ones a small gay Pomeranian/chuiaiua who fell down the staris last week and made a really funny noise.

then i have a springer spaniel, hes the fucking man. literally. we take him to the dog park, he fucks mad bitches. literally. and he jumped out of a car going 60 and through a screen, out a 2nd story window onto my driveway

Not true. They are conducting DNA testing to compare the mitochondrial DNA found in the tombs to each other. They are trying to determine whether the people buried there are related to each other. It's quite common in Mortuary Archaeology now. This is not some Dan Brown plot to find people today that are relatives of Jesus.

And it has not been "debunked" either. The close proximity of the tombs and the writing on them gives very probably cause to raise questions. It would be like finding 3 tombs with the names "Larry", "Curly", and "Mo" right next to each other and not asking the question... "is it possible for the 3 stooges to be buried here?" Also, a lot of new data has emerged reguarding language and use in the bible. One is actually the official name of Mary Magdalene (which isn't her official name obviously). Many of these new conclusions didn't arise until the late 1990's.

Beautiful. Thanks man, that's the kind of stuff I was curious about. The news kept comparing it to the DaVinci Code so I couldn't exactly get a grasp on what they would compare DNA to. Thanks again.

no, it wouldnt be the first news story on the cnn homepage....

fuck this, i was going to reply, but this just pissed me off so much, im ranting in my blog instead.

..it would be rather amusing

wow yay for ignorant people. jesus died and was laid to rest in a tomb. then he was resurected and then the diciples and mary came to see him the stone had been rolled away and jesus was standing out side. so he obviously had a tomb. and yes there have been many arrguments on whether jesus was fully human or fully divine. the fect that he died proves he was fully human but then again the fact that he was resurected proves he was fully divine. so one asks them self can you be both fully divine and fully human at the same time. and theres more to this argument but youre to ignorant to finish it considering its off topic anyway.

lemme ask you this, does being resurrected mean your heart stops beating, then starts again, and you're cool?

it means you are dead then something brings you back to life.

I really don't understand how people can't believe in a god. Where would the universe come from without some greater power? I understand the whole big bang thing and totally believe that but I still feel like there HAS to be something that created everything. Now I can totally understand not believing the stories in christianity, judaism, whatever. After all they are just stories meant to teach lessons. The only problem I see with god is where did God come from?
