Flagrant slow-mo usage, check

"Artsy" shots of eastern culture, check

Lots of shots from helis and of helis, check

Some sick stuff in the trailer, but come on...

PS way to use "long," "story," and "short" in the title. Honestly, why even do that?
 
haha yeah they did have all those things..but that's just their style, you know? skiing looked pretty nice.
 
personally, i think it looks awesome. there quality of shooting is so far above everyone else
 
I love MSP, and its not about how they shoot the shots, its about the skiing. They arnt the same movies either. They just are more focused on all mountain skiing. Most people on NS dont like Powder/Big mountain skiing. Thats why you dont like it
 
i thought that it was actually a really sick trailer, i wanted to use that song so bad, and they started at the middle but the beginning is the best part, but i thought it was edited real well with some sick skiing.. if only they could take out the commentary

seriously, that trailer was sick. I couldn't have volume in my computer class, but it was amazing anyway. All the best skiers, gonna be great.

I like MSP, dunno why nobody else does, but i like them. I see the slo-mo, like it, see the heli shots, like it.I see the big mountain stuff, i like that too.

I might be looking for that movie this year. less big mountain, more park riding, and this year the list of athletes is really interesting.

What I am talking about has nothing to do with the riders or the skiing. Just because TJ Schiller did a sick grab doesn't mean MSP is doing a good job. Every company does this to some extent, but with MSP it feels like exactly the same movie with a new name and new tricks for each year.

I thought it looked good. MSP has their own style that they've been sticking with for a long time, but Seven Sunny Days looks really cool. I think they learned their lesson from Hit List.

I love it pow/big skiing...but find its really boring to watch without some sweet tricks of cliffs and Eric Pollard, Eric Hjorleifson are the only dudes with MSP that bring it, everyone else kinda makes me wanna sleep

Actually, they're douchebags because nobody buys a seven year old ski movie, and me having a trailer up for it (which they dont even feature on their site anymore) was fucking over their company. Calling that out and putting strikes on my youtube account really made sense, thanks MSP.

MSP also blows because they have consistently tried to monopolize the ski movie industry. They've aggressively gone after and sabotaged other production companies. There was a huge thread on it last year.

As for movie style, whatever. I think its lame to just produce the same damn shit every year with the same stupid commentaries and repetitive slo-mo's. At least other companies take risks and try to inject something new and creative into the industry.
 
thats just their style. thats how they always do their stuff. i dont care if thats how they do every movie, i just like the skiing. they could do some more stupid stuff like rory tapping the snowman and landing on hid back, but that might just be me.

You know what? I don't even care if it's MSP. That trailer had some of the bext skiing I've ever seen. I'm looking forward to it.

I dont think there was ever a resolution to that one. Someone from MSP posted something, but that was disputed, and shit just went everywhere.... but there are consistently rumors going around that MSP does that kinda stuff. I really didnt think of them one way or another until they decided to put strikes on my account because I uploaded the trailer to The Seth Morrison Chronicles. That was just a bitch move.

if you dont like MSP then you dont no big deal, dont watch the movies. i like msp so i watch them...i like poor boyz so i watch them....i like plehouse so i watch them....same thing as non ski movies, i watch the ones i like and dont watch the ones i dont like. i dont get why every year people make a big deal about how much msp sucks....why does everyone care so much?
 
Because MSP used to make amazing movies (Ski movies 1-3) and could do so much better if they tried, instead of just remaking Yearbook every year.

so what it needs to be is....

Lots of park shots follow cams.... check

Dont shoot on high end high speed film cameras... check

Stop with unique establishing shots and go back to something more creative like a chairlift timelapse during your park follw cam day..... check

How long does it take to realize that every film company has their own style and thats the reason they are different from others, wheter its your style or not, its still top notch production quality/skiing.
