There is 2 versions now isn't there. One with a 16 din and one with like a 12 or something. I got the 16's last year for like $220 at the beginning of the season so it's probably the 12 din or whatever the lower din one is.
I just go to my local shop today and the Jester whit the din at 16 is 379$ can and the jest whit din at 12 (the griffon) are 260$ can but they are pretty sick. Jester are a little lighter but griffon is light to.
If you need the high din of the jesters, chances are you are going to break them seeing as how they are about 95% plastic. If you need to spend that much on bindings, just go buy a pair of P18s or fks, you can find them for around $150, and they don't wear out. or s916s.
which is what? them breaking. If you're spending that kind of money, why not get a quality product. 200 is what p18s were retailing for at the end of their run. for 200 you could have grabbed a px18 from sierraski. i see 916s come up left and right for 200. And if you want a lighter binding, the 914s et al are 2x the binding that a jester is.
true, but i heard from a pretty reliable dude they were solid for taking beatings. bought em, and they have served me so well. they've taken hits and still no damage beyond some scars plastic normally gets.
they are prolly sellin um by the binding now after every1 was callin marker and sayin their binding broke, so u dont have to buy another full set of bindings.
either way waste of money if you plan to use the binding in the park the jester and griffons just can't take the punishment, just check out the reviews for the jester.
you mean the piece of plastic that holds you the your skis when youre flying down an icy ass run at about 50 mph of flying 20 feet in the air? those pieces of plastic?
ah yes, at only 20ft they hold up just dandy, but when you start to hit the 30ft mark, stuff goes down hill, no joke a pair exploded on a guy at our hill last year on a measly 30fter.
goes both ways with bindings. i remember when everyone was bitching about the duke exploding heel pieces because they were trying switch landings with them... binding was never made to land switch seeing how hugo designed it. depends on how you treat and use your bindings. again mine have been solid as fuck.
i dont know if youre teasing my post or not. i feel like you are. so let me clarify my post a bit. 20 ft like the 20 ft of a world class pipe hit. that kid of 20 ft. not the length of the jump the height off the deck.
I don't remember anybody bitching about their heel breaking maybe like 1 guy, they were complaining about the tour lever breaking. Besides the heel piece is the same as the jesters i think and so if the duke's heel can't take landing switch then the jester should't either
i was skeptical as well about jesters but, i have a pair and they havent broken on me yet. and just another comment about people saying there is no reason to have a binding above 12. Yes there is, higher din bindings are usually way stronger then 12 or 10 din bindings. And most good skiers that ski big mountain or just pow in general set the bindings din higher.
