It's true though. Skating at a skate park is one thing, but even in towns with skate parks kids wax ledges and skate on steps of private property. I know the kids of NS are going to hate on me for this, but that's blatantly disrespectful to somebodies property. Skiers doing urban is the same thing in my mind. If I was a business owner and some kids were out skating on my front steps I would sure as hell kick them out.
I can't imagine someone with that kind of integrity would necessarily go hand in hand with success in life.
I agree with this post 100%, but you don't see urban videos on this site getting shit such as "You're ruining their property". Seems a little hypocritical complaining about skaters ruining ledges and rails when skiers do the same thing.
I'm sure he's talking about the work you have to put into it, not how good they're at destroying private property.
I'm not going to start an argument here, because I don't have the follow through to finish it. But why would the intent matter when at the end of the day the skateboarder goes home and the shop owner is left with a damaged ledge. Not to mention the liability on his end.
Fundementally, it doesn't matter, you're right. But its also just a ledge, if it breaks when being grinded chances are it wasn't that safe to start with, plus if you don't want skaters hitting your rail but stoppers on it.
Those kids have just as much right to shred cement as the business owners to think its 'right' to own land on and pollute our beautiful planet with their money based businesses only dedicated to greed
Shit. Man, I hadn't thought of it that way. Now that you put this into perspective for me it all makes total sense. You are completely right and I take back everything I had said before.
while i agree with you in your other post, i still don't think its bad. i mean kids are gonna do stupid shit and break shit no matter what. i mean at least they aren't putting graffiti of gang signs on fences or whatever hooligan shit they could do. and i think that's what jerry is getting at in this show. skaters get a bad rap and they might not always have the purest of intentions but they show that they won't give up and that's something worth admiring.
