okay, last night, there was a large argument over a jello subject. If you were at the bottom of a pool that was filled with jello, could you swim up to the top???Tele-jibber???

No you couldn't. Jello is nothing like water because it's a semi-solid. With water you can float to the top but jello is completely different. It would be like trying to swim in a pool of quicksand you just can't.

No yuou couldnt. Ski Instructor Mike was righton. The whole semi-solid deal would make swimming basically impossible.

Wouldn't it be kind of similiar to being trapped under a lot of snow because aren't snow flakes solids or are they considered liquids?

 
I'd say snow is solid. It is a crystalline structure which is a common sttribute of solids. So I'm going with solid.

It would be almost imposible. For example you know how people always put little pices of fruit into jello for BBQs and stuff, well next time you do check back on the objects every 5 minutes or so, they will be in exactly the same places. Even if the jello is eaten out from around them, the jello is hard enough to support the weight. But since you are way more weight then a pea of something I think you would probibly sink to the bottom, unless the jello was made extra thick.

Just as a second example of how strong and hard jello really is here is a picture:

That is a very small square compared to the 5x5 ft. square an artist made and put on display for a week (untill it started to mold). The jello supported itself with no walls for that whole week. In short jello is way stronger then you think.

And, scrooge could swim in his money becuase it was all pure gold and the inside of his safe was always pretty hot, near gold's melting point. So he really was swimming in semi-moltin gold chips. Rember how he would always wear that red and white striped swim suit? Well that was made of Nomex, a specal fire retardent cloth and that is how he did it!

You wouldn't float at all, I guess you could try and swim to the top but you would move very slowly. So like if you were 10ft. under you would probibly drown. Its just too think for you to move at any speed. And also kicking wouldn't really do anything you would just have to dog paddle I guess. But like someone said before, it would be alot like quicksand, thin enough for you to sink yet think enough that you can't swim in it

and the jello is too dense to swim in. you can swim in water, because the particles of the water are farther apart, and can be seperated more easily. if the jello was warm, them maybe. but no, you couldnt.

the best part about jello, is when it is in the like powder form. like it is not made into real jello yet. for the past 2 days all i have been doing while sitting infron't of my comp, is eat this stuff. it is good
