Well lightsabers block any energy, and presumably spells are energy. Dunno what they'd be otherwise.. not like it's magic or something cause that'd be totally unrealistic.

Harry's best spell was expelliarmus, once the jedi loses his lightsaber he doesn't have a chance.

I never read past the fourth book and haven't seen any of the movies all the way through, but doesn't that spell work only on magic wands? Or is it a general disarming spell?

Well going by that logic, the force is energy as well, which means harry can block that as well
