Im looking for some jazz type hip hop. Stuff w/ real instruments playing, real bass, drums, piano, horns.

Stuff like pete rock & CL smooth, a tribe called quest, roots (theyre ok sometimes) even stuff like c.r.e.a.m., a few Tired Eyes songs are like this

Basically smooth mellow beats. I dont want any depressing super serious stuff like a lot of what im finding.

Also looking for albums, not single songs. No need to post album DL links, i can find them.

but try Little Brother, anything produced by Ninth Wonder. Try Phonte. Tone Def.
 
the jazz addixx and archetype songs are dope. all that sutff posted is exactly what im looking for. yeah common is good too. i find a lot of mos def's stuff hit or miss, a lot of it is good though.

the roots are the shit, i fully appreciate what theyre doing. i've heard some live stuff from them and i love it, but some of it just isn't my style really. maybe im missing some of their better albums? post up some good stuff from them.

also people under the stairs sort of fit this style. i got tired of them though from listening to thier albums on repeat for a couple months...whoops. its good to see people like them still putting out music w/o using 30 tracks per song straight from a computer

check out anything produced by 9th wonder or ant. also grab the CD Yesterdays Universe by Yesterdays New Quintet released by Stones Throw Records, i think this is what your looking for. basically, madlib produced beats, but instead of using the computer, he had jazz musicians play.

check out stuff with erykah badu and jill scott really soulful musicians

both supper popular but still amazing
