"Jay-Z has been tapped to headline the first ever Pemberton Festival in British Columbia this July. According toBillboard, Hov will co-headline the event along with Coldplay, Nine Inch Nails, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The festival will take place in Pemberton, B.C. which is about two hours from Vancouver by car and is near the famous Whistler ski resort. The three day event will feature a festival village, camping facilities, an RV Park, and over 50 bands performing on two stages. Tickets go on sale on Friday March 28 and the festival runs from July 25-27." (From XXLmag.com)

Am I the last person on earth to hear about this Pemberton Festival?

Tickets go on sale on March 28 at www.pembertonfestival.com looks pretty nuts....they are expecting 37,000 people...don't know how that is going to be possible considering the town is about 2000 people with very little public services.

A friend of mine said they tried to have an Air Show in the late 90's that got 4000 people and the town could not cope

Because Pemberton has a lot of big fields in the middle of nowhere where you can make as much noise as you want and have 30'000 people park their cars, get wasted and camp out.

Try pulling that off in Whistler. Just parking that many cars in the whole city is impossible.

tis going to be way crazy. i am certainly excited. i'll be surprised if pemberton can even handle that many visitors.

mang, early bird tickets are $240. plus camping fees and etc. spendy.

i wonder what the impact is going to be on shambala

"The festival is produced by Live Nation and Good Boy Productions"

live nation? sounds pretty nate-dog to me... might be wrong though but I wouldn't be surprised if Mt. Currie nation was getting something out of this.

Ahh, that makes sense. What a nutty idea. What motivation would people have to hold an event like this in a place like that, though?

because pemberton grows potatoes...they can feed lots of people

have you been to whistler? where the hell would they hold a concert for 37 000 people on top the already isnane amout of people who will be there for crankworks?

how could you not want to go to this thing? i know all of us out here in the west koot'z are talking about it - going to be one of the best music events of the summer, for sure.

This is during crankworks? Shit that place is gonna be packed!

And Live Nation is a site that sells tickets to basically everything, not a first nations group.
