Jay peak rules

i ski at jay every weekend cause i live like right there and its by far the best ski area in the east and it doesnt have all this other like tourist type stuck up crap like killington and stuff

yeh only bad thing is WIND AND COLD and slow lifts but other wise its awesome on a sunny warmer day

The park is decent(3 tables 30-45ft, decent rails), they get lots of snow yes, like 330 this year or a little more,

but I warn all to never go with out a few extra layers in your bag and never go when the winds there are over 10 mph, the flyer quad is crazy exposed and cold

why would you not want to ski there all season?? i would love to and am probably going to go to uvm just for that reason...but yea jay is probably the most chill resort in the east. they've done a pretty good job w/ their parks and have unbeatable terrain and snowfall

oh yea damn, the flyer quad. once you come over that peak at the top, the wind hits you hard.

i went up that lift with my jacket undone. not fun.

freeskinow,

simple answer is that in northern vt in jan/ feb it gets cold, and its always 5-10 degrees colder at jay than burlington

sugarbush is the only northern vt resort that you consistently get scanned at so I would recommend buying a pass there if you come here to uvm

killington, loon and waterville are 2 hrs or less away also

jay and smuggs dont check and have cheap prices, stowe you can easily borrow a pass and they dont check on park lift, bolton is not really worth going to unless all you do is grind

i was there for march break and it was awesome. we had sunshine each and everyday, there were no lift lines at all, we had an awesome condo...it was perfect

i also snowshoed (sp?) for the first time as well...if anybody was there on march.24th, a thursday, i was the one hiking up under the main quad (runs almost to the top). i ended up making it to the tram...

but yea, goto jay...awesome place to ski
