So I've set up a facebook group for all the NS people that ride Jay, Jay is my home mtn, but I just bought a sweet 7 passenger van, and I want to take advantage of that for doing backcountry runs and carpooling to the mountain from montreal

So if you ride Jay, join the group so we can meet up, carpool and share our secret stashes

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=17933779833&ref=ts

It's also so we can network to find accommodations (ie: Grampa Grunts) and have huge parties there

btw, if you dont ride jay, it's 249$ for a student pass...just saying

ps: jay peak is the shittiest mtn in the world, it rains everyday and they get no snow

sick, i live in southern vt but i ski jay, o btw what did you end up naming your van?
i bet you'll see me on tahoes or 09 bacons at some point, also any more news on some moment demos in vt?

wordly my friend is really into backcountry and ride jay, has a condo there, and now skiing big jay is legal or so ive heard..

shall be an awesome winter.

yeah i'll go touring with anyone who wants, also for those of you who don't know jay, dave was right, it's about 500' vertical, flat, and very rarely has snow let alone pow, not worth going there...

yeah man if u ride northern vt, go to stowe thats where the pow's at... dont bother with jay peak, too flat and icey

word i'm joining up. this is my last winter in mtl and im only taking 3 classes so yeah... let's ride

i dont go to jay that often but ill be willing to pitch in for carpooling if there are going to be some epic parties. oh and you could consider smuggs too. their pass is a little more expensive and their park is balls but there's some pretty sweet terrain. plus its the same distance from montreal as jay

Ill be at jay this winter but i am coming from Burlington, I would still ski trees, and rock out at parties though...

whats the difference between a seven passenger van and a mini van? i thought they were one in the same. Dave call it a mini-van. its so much more baller. All the DH mountain bikers i know rep it up for their mini's. Besides soccer moms have moved on to SUV's.

haha i guess you wont be coming to smuggs then. oh well lemme know when some of those parties are and i can chip in for carpooling

Don't know where everyone's coming from, but I've got a place @ Jay if anyone needs a couch. I'll be up 3-4 days/week and am willing to carpool from btown. Anyone who tours and wants to do some midnight runs, lemme know.

most of any east coast ski resort. And grandpa grunts is the shit. You gonna be giving rides from the dip or big jay?

first 5 runs of the day are backside shuttle runs off the jet triple, we can each take a turn at driving...then at 3-4, strap on the skins!

its true smuggs sucks, never go there. it rains all the time and the notch is really just a myth, it doesnt actually exist.

fuck i guess i cant go now because the greyhound bus apperently take 6-7 hours to get to kingston from ptbo...lame!

we're going tojay tomorrow, if you haven't joined the group yet please do so

i need to find people to occupy spots in my van

Lets be honest, Jay gets maybe 325 a year. I mean to jay a foot is 10" I am pretty sure. Sometimes I think they simply cant just report the same or less than other mountains so they just look at what stowe reports and say they got 3" more. They do get the most snow though either way

he's right, we get no snow, its more like 400 inches of rain, it's always cold and windy...the chairs even have signs that say they run in reverse because of the ridiculous wind, plus there is no park, just a few mounds of ice here and there, and lift tickets are like 200$ a day if you're not part of this special club, thousands actually die from frostbite each season, they say that the winds and temperatures surpass even those of mt washington

yea, in reality, they exaggerate the snow totals, the chairlifts close down and brealk down due to wind a lot, its far away, no nightlife, very cold. i prefer stowe and smuggs.

sick i live close to b town and have a trip mt pass. will be riding jay all the time. i enjoy slaying epic ice lines that we all rave about. mmm o and i love how the quad freezes my whole body to the point i cant even breath. the best of times.
