As far as trails go if you get there early hop on first tram and hit up Valhalla cause that's a fun one for the firsts few runs. as the day progresses you'll wanna stick to the glades on the tram side of the mountain, cause stateside gets skied out fast.
As bad as it sounds Bolton has been getting snow pretty much everyday. I've been there 5 of the last 10 days and had fresh in the woods everyday. Tuesday was awesome, 4-5" in the woods and freshly raked jumps with soft landings. Also there was only like 30 people there
Can't wait to head up there tomorrow. According the weather man, Jay,Stowe and that area are supposed to get a ton of snow in the next few days, and they've racked up over 3 ft in feb. so far.
Channel 5 news told me this morning that you will be pleasantly surprised if you go up around valentines day, and the Jay site says they have 183" so far and 16" in the past week. I'm trying to be optimistic
Way to be! I'll help you out w/the optimism then. I wear a bright orange Orage jacket, blue pants, and have a gopro mounted to my helmet. If you see me, say hi. I'm at Jay every weekend.
i was there on saturday and it was not good conditions. all the snow they had gotten in the begining of the week had been blown off, there were mad rocks and grass in the trees. terrin was gnar. woulda been so dope with a foot of fresh
You were at Jay on the busiest weekend of the year. I did backcountry around the Jay area all weekend. 6" of blower on Saturday. Anywhere from 6 to a foot on Sunday.
today was good there..its starting tomorrow afternoon and a local told me upwards of 20" for wednesday...valhalla was good all day..if 20" happens will face chutes be good?
Could be. The weather models are all over the place. NOAA called for 3 to 7 tonight and changed their predictions to 2 to 4 an hour later. Now, NOAA says not much more than a dusting.
wednesday had 18 inches fresh in the morning and it started snowing again this aft. Supposed to get another 20 inches by the weekend. I won't give up my powder stashes but I will tell you a few general places to look that aren't secret but if you get there fast are good. Go to beaver pond (far skiiers left of the mountain) and continue along the left towards the boundary and ski that you should have good enough pitch and fresh. Also hit up staircase glades unerneath the flyer quad (they drop skiers left of the run under the chair) they were untracked wednesday at 2 pm. Good lucks boys
