Jay Peak...lol

Hopefully its someone who's willing to use more of the snow-making in the park. The park at jay has been really disappointing the last few years. build a super dope one beside the taxi chair please.

I ski at jay because its my home mountain and the only one available to me, and I love the whole mountain, just saying the park used to be killer and is quite lame now compared to previous years.

makes me start thinking about some of the shady shit places out west might be doing. Ive heard some things about Snowbird having some really shithead execs running the show.

I'm going to get a lot of hate for this, but honestly I think Jay is one of the more overrated hills in the east. I mean, it's still a really great hill and probably top 5 east of the Rockies, but it really isn't as good as so many people say it is. The snow can't be beat. But the fall lines kinda suck and it's really not that steep. Combine that with the developments and the steep prices in recent years and it's definitely not all it's fabled to be.

Who would you say in New England is steeper with better fall lines ? Cannon ? Loaf ?

The qburke side of this story has the real meat.

PS FUCK Q

can you elaborate on this? who is q, and is q burke a renaming of burke mtn? like the one with the racing

I have also been told mount snow just got a $55 million expansion approved. I wonder if this is true, that's a fuckload of dollars

I think most mountains in vermont (and north of VT) all have some pretty fun and relatively gnarly stuff ( for the east at least) if you know where to go. I'm sure Jay has some crazy stuff if you ski there enough to know.

Hell...I grew up at Stratton and know that entire mountain like the back of my hand. There is surprising some sizable cliffs 10-15 footers if the snow is good and some fun little lines here and there if you know where to go. Granted they keep opening new woods which ruins much of it but I would imagine it would be the same anywhere you go

Theirs is also funded by eb-5 money, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out. Not sure if the investors can back out at this point but I bet a lot of them are pretty skeptical about it after seeing how Quiros and Stenger handled their money.

I just think it's a rather large investment, even for mt. snow. Anybody know what they're planning to do?

An assfuckton worth of snow making is what I heard from a ski patroller on the lift once this season, but who knows.

Meh Stratton has some good woods, but lets be honest, it's flat as a pancake. It's a giant blue square at best. It may not be Jackson Hole, but I wish I grew up there haha not CT.

I know they're completely renovating the base of Carinthia with a new hotel and lodge, we'll see how that turns out
