Jay Peak has sold! And not to Vail!

What a relief. It's definitely go built up even just since my first time there in 2010 back when the old stateside lodge was around. Vail would have completely ruined a east coast gem for sure.

Anyone know if vail was one of the three bidders? Haven't seen if they released the companies

Who was the buyer?

"JAY, VERMONT – Michael Goldberg, the court-appointed receiver for Jay Peak Resort, announced today that Pacific Group Resorts, Inc. (PGRI) has made the highest and best final bid to buy Jay Peak following an auction with multiple bidders. The prevailing bid remains subject to approval by the United States District Court in Southern Florida during a final hearing tentatively scheduled for September 16, 2022. If approved by the court, and subject to closing which is anticipated to be this fall, Jay Peak will become the sixth ski resort in PGRI’s portfolio including properties in British Columbia, Colorado, Virginia, Maryland, and New Hampshire."

Pacific Group Resorts; they own Mount Washington BC, Wintergreen, Wisp, Powderhorn and Ragged Mountain.https://pgri.us/resorts.php

it says in the article

Didn’t see the link…. Had a sarcastic comment ready but I’m the dumbass here so I’ll just go with thanks!

Pacific Group Resorts for 76 million… damn never heard of them but obviously they got some cheddar…. What else do they own?

When i used to run the ski club at my Uni, Jay Peak would hookup 1st year students with a 99$ season passes. Such a sick mountain with killer vibes and lots of Grateful Dead.

Yea we'd get free passes as execs if we hit a certain threshold of passes sold. Back in 2018 i rode the lift with this hippy dude who smoked me a fatty J and claimed to have skied the past 10 years without a ticket lmao homie is above tha law

You realize this company is just a smaller version of those two...

Yeah but they don’t own very many resorts at all so they can pour their attention better to each resort. Also this company has a good history of maintaining the more independent resort vibe in the past. If vail or alterra bought them traffic would significantly increase at Jay, this will not do that to the same degree, not even close.

76 mill is a steal, correct me if I'm wrong, but when they built all the new hotels, waterpark etc, wasn't several hundred million spent on it ?

Same group that owns my home mountain. Really hoping my $350 season pass gets me a few days a Jay. Thanks for not letting Vail buy it.

why this thread. why post a smaller resort on ns nobody goes too. waist of time.
