JASON'S PLAN FOR LINE

rich and jordan have silenced the blind haters, well said both. i specifically like the "5 year old hermaphrodite with halitosis" reference. well versed. i've give you a little 2 cents here;

k2 is like the orginal core company from back in the day. i'm no GW but i feel good about companies that are american based (sure they have factories in China, but so does everyone, and those chinas can make some good skis) k2 was all about the freesyle movement, they did make the first twintip ski (k2 poacher, little known fact)

good move jay, charlie and the LINE gang to make the company the best it can be. oh and the last lines of the FS interview, jay isnt benefiting financially, so ha! ok, we should all stop talking about this after monday night when you ask jay a million questions and give him carpel tunnel.

What is your problem with profit? with k2 he has more design and engineering resources aswell as a sound financial team to help him make the possible descions for line. Profit is not a bad thing, this greatly improves his distribution and makes sure thats his company will not perish. How can u not get mad at ninthward then when they sell skis for a PROFIT. Do u expect line to go pro-bono for the sake of kids who dont wanna pay a little more so that these guys can eat
 
hey malcyzk how does paying chinese people to produce skis help Vermont's economy? Whatever happened to the Line workers who would take their paychecks and turn around and buy some LINE skis? I can speak for one- now working as a line cook and skiing on Armada's. But who really cares about the customer... I mean one person doesn't make a difference, or 2, or 200, or the good few thousand of us who will no longer be buy Line skis this season. What sucks is it really doesn't make a difference, Line is now riding k2's financial coattails and the customer is now just a number in a sales report of a .0001th percentage in a pie graph.
 
All i have to say is K2, and Jason are starting on the damage control. Most of the responce on this site is that merger is bad, which could result in a backlash against Line. Yes the brand has to progress, and yes there are buisiness deals that have to go down, but if you ailenate the people who are your clients, well you end up going tits up anyways.
 
I think that LINE has done the right move and that it should only help. J know what he is doing and I think that it will be all good.
 
don't ever say J dosn't care about skiing phil, you've never skiied with him, or had a conversation with him.

How can you say he dosn't care about the sport when he's going out of his way to talk to the people who support his company? how many ski company owners would do that?

if you don't understand the ski industry and what it takes to be successful in it you should stop talking in a hurry, you're making yourself look foolish... all this bullshit about J doing it for money is getting ridiculous, he does own a company doesnt he? companies are supposed to try and make money arent they? damn guys your ignorance is killing me

PLUS I LIKE HOW LINE DENIED ANY MONEY ISSUES AND PREACHED ABOUT HOW CORE THEY REALLY ARE LAST FALL. ALL THEY DID WAS LIE STRAIGHT UP TO THEIR CUSTOMERS ABOUT PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING.

Ok ok, so, you take 2 medium ripe peaches, and peel them, cut them in half, take the pit out and then finely chop them and put them in a bowl.

Them you take 2 medium/large tomatoes, cut them in half, core and seed them, and then finely chop those up and put them in the same bowl.

Then take like half of a large or a whole small bell pepper (red or yellow) and seed that, and finely chop it up, add it to the bowl.

Them take half of a medium/small red onion, finely chop it and add it to the bowl.

Then add 2 to 3 tablespoons of lime juice, 1/4th teaspoon salt and 2 to 3 teaspoons of sugar tot he bowl.

Finally, add at least a huge fistful of finely chopped cilantro, but as much as you want is fine to the bowl. Mix it all up really well, and let it sit in the fridge 15 minuts.

You get the best tasting thing ever. enjoy.
 
Why does it matter if they are supported by K2. their products and misson and role in skiing is not gonna change. probably in about 4 years when line is doin awsome the'll break off and become independant again. its basically like getting money from your dad. you kinda depend on him but he doesnt influence your ideas or tell you what to do with the money.

this is just like saying you dropped your team because the athletes and line had different missions and their futures just weren't lined up, instead of saying

'were fucked, out of money, and can't support all these top quality (some not) athletes'
 
I love how kids who claim they love skiing can be so passionate against one of the hardest working compaines in skiing. In 11 years j took his skiboard operation out of his parents garage and now has a global company the changes the ski world every year. I can see some people being upset with a little change but some of you seem to passionatly hate one of the greatest things to happen in freestyle skiing
 
you're a little bitch. you obviously have no idea what Jason is even talking about from a buisiness standpoint. if the compnay is going to survive, this is how. if you ever tried running your own business of making something , you would understand. until then, your a fuckin idiot.
 
People may like line....and think they are core...etc. But in the end, you are just a number......all they see is dollar bills, nothing else. Thats just the way it is.
 
I see this statement a lot, and it's fucking ignorant.

If a company wants to make a profit, they need to sell shit. To sell their shit, it needs to be better, or at least more appealing. They have to give the buyer a reason to buy their shit instead of someone else's.

On a somewhat related note, I have to give credit to the people who made "core" such a big selling point. What does "core" mean? It's made by a small company, limited funds, limited R&D funds, and often made in whatever factory they can get in, not the best factory. I bet almost all the new "core" companies would have fallen flat on their faces if their market wasn't so concerned with "progressing the industry" and that crap.
 
I don't know whats up all your asses that are hating on Jason and Line, but I think it was great that he came on here and told us what he thinks. Line is awesome, and they just needed to do what was best for the survival and growing of the company. Props Jason. Line is sick.
