Jason Levinthal is the Fucking Man

I had showed no disrespect, and everyone saying look at all his experience just shows he has less reason to fuck up. If you got 10+ yrs of experience then you shoulda planned better when starting a new company. He's had the skis for pre order for fucking months how long does it take to order an receive materials, not months that's for damn sure. I was making no attacks or disrespect towards him, simply stated that calling a costumer is not going above and beyond, granted he didn't do bare minimum but he sure as hell didn't do the best he could have. That's a fact.

You guys are angry because I suggested he give a piece of 6-8 $ dollar fabric for funking up a 500$ order y'all are stupid. I wouldn't have suggested this if say the op decided to buy them after preorder had been sent but he preordered for gods sakes, it's not like j got a new order outta nowhere and was like shit sorry bud were out right now, I just sol a shitload of skis and yours won't e available for a while. He knew how many were being bought and made a misjudgment/mismanagement. Now everyone is getting they're shit late and has nothing to show for it but a phone call

first off, a week delay for the second pair of skis released by any company can hardly be considered a fuck up if at all, so I don't know why you're so butthurt about it. Did you order skis and need them for next week? No? Then shut the fuck up.

Also, it's not like the first day they were available everyone ordered them, J had to order materials pretty recently because only now does he know how many skis to make and how much shit to get. WIth such a small company he's not buying a ton of this stuff in advance, he orders it (I'm assuming) when he's close enough to the ship date that he can get an accurate number of how many skis he'll have to make.

First of all, he had the skis for preorder for less than two months. Second of all, instead of talking about how he should've planned better and all that, if you think you could do things a lot better, why don't you go try and start a successful ski company, and we'll see how well you'll do out there. In my opinion, like with most things, if you haven't tried it for yourself, you don't know half of what goes into it.

Also, from the stoke that people are giving out in this thread, and in the OP itself, it's obvious that his new company isn't catering to people like you, as you haven't bought a pair. And no one that actually bought the ski seems to mind so much, and they're just thrilled that the company's keeping them up to date by calling each and everyone of them. So why do you even care if you have nothing invested in this?

I feel like it is going above and beyond. I didn't order from j skis but a company outreaching to you without you first calling them is awesome and on top of that a actual human called you and not some fucking robot. The person that called you actually took the time out of his day to call you and be open for you to talk to him about the situation.

This kind of customer service is dying now a days.

Idk where you buy shit from but, that is what is expected its a standard in all forms of industry. I've never once herd of a company having a delay and not letting the consumer know. When was the last time a robot called you to talk about your order? My guess is never. If this happened at a large company like evo, bet your ass you'd talk to a human. This is what is expected, not doing some godly geasture of costomer service. No matter what you say a phone call is not going "above and beyond". If it is to you great your the reason company's have a no big deal attitude towards consumers. I'm not saying j has one I'm referring to goods market as a whole

this is where you're wrong. more often than not, YOU have to call the company to ASK "where is my shit"?

Lets see, pay pal, amazon, every power company, banks, doctor offices, any cable company as they rub their nipples. Even in the snow industry a few companies direct me to e mail them instead(armada). Niche snowboards was a bitch to get a hold of anyone(in fact couldn't get a hold of anyone today. Going to walk directly to their office instead on my day off) and DC snowboards takes you to a robot and you pretty much have to go out of your way and get a hold of a reps number.

When have you had the owner of the company call and tell you though? I'd like to seee where you got that kind of customer service from.

I love and hate how a very positive and stoked thread can completely deteriorate into complete bitching and moaning within a few posts. Please fucking snow already so we can get over this.

Well it was really just one douchebag. I think the rest of us were clearly impressed the JLev takes the time to let his customers know that he gives a fuck and values them enough to personally call them and talk to them about an issue when most places would just say nothing and ship whenever.

heeeeeeeeeyyy... we dont only carry megabrands :-(

if J would let us, we would be more than stoked to bring in J skis! I could understand him not wanting to open up to major ski stores like EVO, Retail Concepts (sun and ski), Christy's, etc. But we are about as local as local gets and are all about supporting the little guy.

You really don't know what the fuck you are talking about when it comes to materials for ski building. It's not as easy as just calling up and getting what you need. Smaller companies have material issues all the time. There

just because they were preordered does not mean a hiccup cannot occur. This happens all the time to megabrand X they just have enough stock to cover for it, small brands cannot. Also, products can come months later from suppliers than when promised, you never know.

Re-looking at this thread made me want to order a pair. I did a number to my Thall's this weekend and am realizing I need new skis. Hope they are as bombproof as I am being led to believe, I am guessing they will be.

just figured id update everyone on the situation. My stepp j skis got delivered today, and holy shit do they look sick. cannot wait to get them mounted up. but just wanted to give more props to lev's customer service; within the package their was a little xmas gift all wrapped up containing a bunch of big ass stickers, a saga x j skis beanie, and a little xmas card. so hyped about it and stoked about the free extras. looks like he took it to heart whenever someone suggested he give a free beanie due to the delay. i wasnt the slightest bit pissed about the delay but its a cool little gesture. big ups to jlev.
