Jason Giambi Admits To Steroid Use

Juicer Jason Giambi admitted to a federal grand jury he took steroids and human growth hormone in 2003, according to transcripts of testimony obtained by the San Francisco Chronicle and published in the newspaper’s Thursday editions.

This contradicts Giambi, who routinely said he never took performance enhancing drugs.

The problem with that is not only is Giambi a druggie, but he's also dishonest and from here on out, anytime the guy opens his mouth, you have to wonder if he’s telling the truth. I know it sounds harsh, but it’s true. Take Jeff Kent, no one in baseball has ever looked at this guy the same way after he got caught in a lie when he was with the Giants.

Not that I condone it, but you could see where Jason Giambi might lie about being a drug user, but I don’t think any of us can see where Jeff Kent would lie about how he got hurt. Kent was just dishonest…and stupid.

Clearly, this isn’t about Kent and the lies he’s told throughout h is career, it’s about Giambi. In his Grand Jury testimony obtained by the Chronicle, he told the jury he used steroids obtained by Greg Anderson, the personal trainer for Barry Bonds.

Giambi did not finger Bonds in his testimony and said Anderson was secretive about who he was working for and what he was doing to help other athletes.

Giambi’s younger brother Jeremy also told the Grand Jury he shot drugs received from Anderson, according to the Chronicle.

The bottom line here is the Giambi’s were granted immunity from prosecution if they told the truth to the Grand Jury, but faced perjury charges if they didn’t.

Jason described to the Grand Jury how he shot human growth hormone into his stomach and testosterone into his ass. He called Anderson's products, “undetectable and he used “the clear and “the cream'.

Clearly this is big because Giambi becomes the biggest star to date to admit he shot the juice and used human growth hormone.

What the whole story behind this? Is it only baseball that under heat or all professional sports? Sorry I dont watch tv much. I bet T-hall will admit to using soon too.

We pay our debt sometimes.

they said that marion jones was using them too and she will be stripped of medals if convicted

Red Sox got cheated out in 2003, he hit 2 HR's in game 7 of the ALCS. I know he stopped in July of that year but I'm sure a lot of his power still came from them

the owner of balco said he thinks well over 50% of mlb players use some form of steroid or human growth hormones. it should not come as a shock to anyone that professional athletes use steroids and growth hormones, I mean just look at major league baseball players, there enormous.

its going to be sad in the future when pro athletes start dropping dead in there 40s and 50s becasue of complications due to long time steroid use.

barry bonds admitted that he was given a steroid in 2003 but claims to not know that it was a steroid. take what you will from that. there is an interview tonight on 20/20 with the owner of balco and he is suppose to be listing names

Never shall innocent blood be shed, yet the blood of the wicked shall flow like a river. The Three shall spread their blackened wings and be the vengeful striking hammer of God.

Haha whenever I play baseball video games with my friends, we have a tradition where we hit Jason Giambi in the face whenever we're pitching.

AK BC SESH

I think its some kinda of sports nutrition place that pro athletes goto for supplements (steriods)

We pay our debt sometimes.

Tanaka like oh my god you hit him in the face in a video game!!! that is so crazy!!!! no way!!!

YOU LOVE IT

Barry Bonds testified to a grand jury that he did use “the clear and “the cream', given to him by Greg Anderson, but he didn’t know that they were steroids, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Bonds say Anderson told him the substances were the nutritional supplement flaxseed oil and pain relieving balm for the player’s arthritis. Bonds said he didn’t know they were steroids. Incredibly enough, come to find out, Barry Bonds did take steroids, but didn’t know they were steroids…ahhhh.

Has there ever been a bigger lock in the history of the world, in the history of mankind that this day would come, that Bonds, when confronted with the evidence, would finally admit, after denying it forever?

Yes, I did take steroids, but I didn’t think I was taking steroids, I thought it was flaxseed oil. After all, has there ever been athlete who got busted who didn’t say, yes I did it, but I didn’t know I was doing it? Come on!

How stupid do you think we all are?

Do you mean to tell me, that a guy who controls every single aspect of his professional life, who obsesses over the smallest of details, who is absolutely meticulous in his preparation to play, didn’t know exactly what he was putting into his body?

Right; just like Sammy Sosa didn’t know exactly what bat he brought to the plate with him.

How did this play out? Did Greg Anderson go to Barry and say hey, rub this on your skin…throw this under your tongue? Think about this for a moment. Barry Bonds is a guy who controls every aspect of his life and he isn’t to going to ask what is it? What are you giving to me? Do you think he's just going to use it because Greg Anderson told him to? If Anderson told him to jump off a bridge would he do that to?

Anderson’s lawyer Tony Serra said his client, “Never knowingly provided illegal substances to anyone.

Bonds’ attorney Michael Rains said the leak of the grand jury testimony was an attempt to smear his client. Grand Jury transcripts are sealed and the Chronicle isn't’ saying who gave the documents to them.

Barry Bonds said he never discussed steroids with his trainer, never asked what the products contained and was certain that Anderson would never give him illegal substances without his knowledge.

You know what? I actually believe Barry probably didn’t ask for two reasons- 1) He knew what it was already & 2) This way, if it all ever did come down, like it is now, he could face everybody and say, I never asked him, I didn’t know what it was he was giving me. Maybe he didn’t ask, but he knew what he was giving him.

Bonds never hit more than 46 homers before his 35th birthday, but then he hit 49 and then 73 at age 37.

Victor Conte the Balco Founder, told 20/20 that he tailored illegal drug regimens for top athletes, including Olympic track stars Marion Jones, Kelli White and Tim Montgomery. Conte said, “In short, the Olympic Games are a fraud.

Tell me something I don’t know. I don’t need a drug trafficker like Victor Conte to tell me the Olympic Games are a fraud…I already knew that. Hell, the only thing I was certain had more drugs than Major League Baseball, were the Olympic Games…and apparently we have Vic Conte to thank for that.

thank you Victor Conte, Balco, and everyone for making this possible. Just when baseball is becoming really big again, w/ 2003 and 2004 playoffs, now the game will be tainted for ever and again basbeall will lose more of an audience

People wont give a shit about baseball steroid use. Baseball is not a game about sportsmanship, or even sport-i admit its fun, but face it, without beer that 'sport' would be very unpopular.

I am a sports fan, which means i watch and keep track of most sports. I have never watched a full game of baseball, in my life. Even in 93, me and my dad walked out of a fucking blue jays game. 93 JAYS!!!

Cuddle? You fag!

ok, so all this stuff has got me wondering: how did danny kazz pass the drug test after his 2002 silver olimpic medal?

depending on my mood, you might get a nice thoughtful responce that might make sense, or you might get complete jibberish that is not wise to even read. good luck

'do or do not. there is no try.'-yoda

in anceint times, people tied up a goat in the the town square and blamed it for all their problems. then they killed it, and thats where we get scapegoat from

What about Barry's records?

They’re tainted!

Even if he didn’t know and I have a hard time believing he didn’t, if he used drugs when he put up those numbers, those numbers are worthless.

Let's talk about the asterisk; Bonds would be lucky if that’s all he gets. An asterisk means his numbers are still going in the book, but I'm not even sure he deserves that much.

The problem is we don’t know what's real and what’s drug fueled. We don’t know when he started doing it and we don’t really know what he’s taking. Having said this, all of his numbers are suspect.

For instance, what happens when he runs down Hank Aaron? How do we know for a fact that he would have gotten there without all this help?

Now, is Bonds a great player without steroids? Of course, absolutely, but the problem is, we don’t know how great. We don’t know where he’d rank historically and we don’t know how many of those homeruns were drug induced. Were 10 percent created by drugs? Maybe it's 20 percent…it’s impossible to know.

That’s why his numbers are inflated and his career is tarnished and so is his legacy. We know Hank Aaron hit is homeruns legitimately, the same with Willie Mays, Ted Williams and Reggie Jackson.

But trust from this second forward, there is always going to be a, yeah, but…Barry won the MVP 7 times, yeah, but…Barry hit 850 homeruns. Yeah, but…no matter what happens that yeah, but is never leaving…he can pee in a cup everyday of his life and it won’t matter…he can go back down to a normal size from here on out and it doesn’t matter…why? Because for a period of time, he looked like a float in the Macy’s Day Parade.

steroids have been being used in baseball for a long time. mc gwire and sosa were most likely on the juice when they broke the homerun record. im sure many other records that have been broken were by a player using juice so what are they to do? have an asteric by every record broken in the last 10-20 years and say they were broken in an era were steroid use was prevelant?

professional sports are all about MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY AND MONEY. one you get to there level, it's about what will make them the most money. and hitting homeruns will. and they have the money to do whatever it takes for them to hit home runs. anyone with so much money would do dishonest things. it's how money works.

they're not all cheaters wtf are you talking about you dumbass. I'm sure a decent number of players have taken or do take steroids; however the vast majority of players do not

I love how Bonds can use steroids and is potentialy goin to break the all time record for home runs and will def pass babe ruth and still play but Pete Rose bets on some games which he bet for HIS team to win and he is banded for life FUCK BASEBALL!!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

Its not only about money-there is something to an athlete, that need to win, the need to be the best. See, people get so caught up in this, they forget the moral implications of what they are doing.
