Japanese Paper Lanterns

I went to this festival the other day and it blew my mind. I thought paper lanterns were just those circular shaped floaty ones, but apparently they make full on sculptures out of them.

so much want of those tree ones in my yard

they are dope. i sell fireworks and noone knows what they are. then i light one in the middle of the day and everyone wants em. They are the cheapest most fun way to enjoy fireworks. they are a lil dangerous if its windy...

haha this,

4th of july a bunch of people were letting them fly and i was looking around at how dry it was, thinking to myself we're fucked

i saw these on the fourth of july party i was at. i feel like they would be so much cooler if you saw them while you were high.

At vibes last year I sent one off over the ocean after the last set of the weekend. People were taking pictures, sort of just watching it and enjoying the peace at the end of the fest. Just sort of a mellow feelling of "that was an awesome weekend" but much slower pace than the rest of the fest had been.

Any way. Watched it go way out over the ocean and then started walking back to my site. Maybe 10 minutes later I see something up in the sky above me. Like a plastic bag from the store just floating. (I mean it's bridgeport so not THAT surprising) So I keep walking. This bag starts getting close. I'm thinking "Nah, it couldn't be", "Could it?". Keep walking and I'm like holy fuck it might be. So I start chasing this thing. Jump a few fences keep running, and I caught the lantern out of the sky on the other side of the fest.

Was an amazing moment for me, especially in that state of mind.

/cool story hansel.
