Can anyone tell me if I leave for Japan in 2 weeks if it is worth bring my skis? I will be in the Hiroshima part of japan, southern island. Thanks

Possibly? I think I went round New Year time, so it could be all good. But do some research, don't leave it to Newschoolers.

Real hard to say. They're just getting their first snowfalls in the north now.It doesn't take huge amounts of snow for them to get going but the best thing in Japan is the tree-skiing IMO and that takes a good couple of feet to really fire up.Then again if it's going off and you don't have them with you you'll be pissed. At least their rentals tend to be pretty high end but they cost you a bomb.

How long will you be in Japan? I don't know too much about the hills in Hiroshima, but its way south, so I wouldn't think there's gonna be much going on down there for a little while. We're only just getting the first few hills opening up in Hokkaido this weekend, and there's not going to be the famous Japanese pow for another few weeks.

Realistically, I'd say not worth bringing skis. Maybe bring boots, but even then, its alot of weight to be carrying around with you.
