so im heading to japan in january with my girlfriend how is not a big skier maybe gone twice.

just wondering is there much to do in the village if she does not want to go out everyday.

we will be skiing nesiko as well if that helps.

wow, sounds like most of australia is heading to nesiko again. I went last year and there were more aussies than japanese.

Actually it is "Niseko." I used to live in Hokkaido, not too far from there. You're gonna have a ball, and yes, there is plenty else to do. If she gets super bored she can take the train into Sapporo, it's an amazing city. And yes, there will be more Aussies than Japanese there. Have fun!

You might want to look at Hakuba as well. Hakuba is on the main island and only a short trip from Tokyo. Like Niseko, it gets a ton of snow but the terrain is a bit steeper. There are 9 resorts within 20 minutes of Hakuba. The snow in Hakuba isn't as deep typically as Niseko, but its still a boatload of snow. Far more than you'll be used to.

There's a great place to stay called Hakuba Powder Lodge run by a guy on the TGR forums, fattwins. http://www.hakubapowderlodging.com/

Good luck
