question to those who are familiar with the ski and tourist community culture in Japanese ski towns-
Are popular ski brands generally more expensive and coveted out there? From my experience skiing outside North America prices can be 30-40% higher than MSRP for even last year's models.
Although against proper NS B/S/T etiquette, I'm interested in re-selling fat/mid-fat at a resort/hostel a bit below local MSRP prices. Most likely a LINE Pescado or Armada ARV / Magic J...
Hoping to effectively hook someone up interested in a new pair and cut myself a break in my travel expenses to Japan........

14091092:DingoSean said:Yeah haha rhythm has tons of old demo skis for sale on the suuper cheap if you ask the right person. That warehouse is loaded
14091095:HYP3R_REAL1TY said:Yeah dawg I was chatting to em the other day. They’ve even got petitors. And like every well known powder ski from the last 10 years

14091785:druseph33 said:I'll probably catch a lot of flak for this, but this seemed like the best place to ask considering most of the NS'ers in Japan are on this thread buuuuuuut.....
*takes breath*
Any of you got the hook on the chronic out there?? Yes, I am aware of it's legality and am completely fine refraining; just wanted to test my luck and see if I could find anything/anyone could help me out
14091790:HYP3R_REAL1TY said:I was going to ask this exact question lmao. It’s so hard to come by in ski towns round here. Plus the punishment is definitely not worth it ... read up in Japanese prisons.
14091794:druseph33 said:Saaaaaaaame: my buddy was trying to convince me I would be fine to just bring some vape carts with me from Cali, but I'm pretty good off going to Japanese prison, sounds horrible.
I might have some burner friends in Tokyo that can hook it up, but I think they're out of town at the moment (unsure if they'll be back before I leave)
You say its hard to come by in ski towns there: have you tried anywhere else? Like Tokyo or Sapporo?
14091795:HYP3R_REAL1TY said:Hakuba seems to be dry. But imagine you’d have better luck in Tokyo!
I am really killing to burn up on the hills over here lol
14091796:druseph33 said:You have a chance to smoke at all since you've been out there?
14091956:sharpski said:Calling all niseko homies, I’m gonna be in hokkaido for 2 months starting in a few weeks. Saved up like 4g and booked a flight with no real plan. Kinda figured I’d run out of money eventually, does anyone know if it’s easy to get a job without a visa? Possibly working for accom at a hostel, or rentals/video work. Also,,, does anyone know of a room available for rent. Message me if your around niseko, id like to ride with y’all.
14092131:Sir_SkrillALot said:You canadian? Wish you were american so i could see how hard it is for you to get a job, but update this thread if you can. Im super interested and considering selling most of my shit in the states and taking a few months in Nippon while I try and find remote jobs.
14092181:sharpski said:Is it difficult for Americans to find work in Japan? Like (dumb question alert) because of WW2 and such?

14092247:Sir_SkrillALot said:I have no idea since I've never worked abroad but I think it has to do with a work visa situation and country reciprocation. Like how its super easy for aussies to work at whistler/banff and then canadians can work in australia as well but theres no similar agreement for americans.

14091361:mattypeezus said:Damn I might have to check out Rhythm Niseko and see if I can score some OG EP Pros
14092329:Cream_Sauce said:I picked up a set of EP pros in niseko last year, been skiied maybe 10 times. How interested are you?
14092929:druseph33 said:Well shit, I just took a look at the snow reports and didnt realize until just now Japan is having a below average start to the season!
I'm in Osaka right now, but will be riding by the 6th.
How's it out there fellow NS'ers? How's the coverage? Think this next storm this weekend will help open everything up??
14093031:HYP3R_REAL1TY said:Yeahp. The season is late so it is just the base being filled now. But by Monday it should be a little bit better, and hopefully open up a few more mountains. Another 30-50cm on top of this weekends storm will be when things really start to get good.
Just waiting for these Japanese holidays to end.
14093327:druseph33 said:So I would be correct in assuming that backcountry (and sidecountry) are a no go right now? Gates all closed?
14093347:HYP3R_REAL1TY said:Really weather dependant but they have been open actually.
14093563:druseph33 said:Hows the coverage though?
14091363:HYP3R_REAL1TY said:Any one in Hakuba want a season pass? I’m leaving on the 12th. Pm me ?
14093876:HYP3R_REAL1TY said:Bump
14093910:mattytru said:We have a member of our crew who doesn't have epic pass who could use this. I'll PM.
A few other Qs...
When the season gets going, are people riding with a beacon shovel probe inbounds?
Anyone been to onsens with tattoos?
