Japan just got hit with a 7.9 earthquake

Yeah I saw that, thanks. Still sending them an email to make sure all is good. Hope it doesn't ruin their friends wedding :p

Not sure if it's been said yet, but I just heard on the news that they declared a nuclear state of emergency because one of their nuclear reactors is in danger..holy shit.

Wow. This fucker California and Oregon a lot harder than I thought it would... State of emergencies have been called for the Northern Coast of California and the whole Oregon Border... Tsunami came in and fucked a lot of shit up hard... Harbours got fucked up all up and down the left coast. My friend who went out to the coast earlier said it definitely wasn't surfable, but it was sure fucking impressive to see it all roll in..
One guy even died up kinda by where I live, down in Crescent City, Ca - he was taking pictures with friends and was swept out to sea. Jesus christ...
All of the docks in the city were destroyed... and this is a place where I literally was just chillin and climbing around a month ago...

This fucker has caused havoc everywhere....

I really don't get how people are getting a rise or think its funny to joke about something like this. I legitmately felt terrible and kind of scared watching the live feed of the huge mud wave of debris just engulfing everything in its path. There were a couple scenes where it was almost too much. It was showing people ditching their cars and running for their lives only to be completely engulfed by the thing. It was so horrid to watch yet soo astonishing.

Really weird because Leafman and I were just discussing how the US (Washington) is up for an over 6.0 earthquake and 4 days later, there's a 8.9 in Japan. Everyone should be prepared for stuff like this to happen, just like Haiti and 9/11. Natural and man made natural disasters will happen, let us just hope they cool down that reactor so no radioactive material gets seeped into Japan. Prayers and thoughts to Japan and friends/family in the wreckage. I have friends over there, they are okay but say they are without water. And my dad has 2 or 3 employees over there who are also okay. Serious business.

That's weird... cause to me it looks like I'm looking at this thread, logged in as myself, through a window through a window.

Like a dream within a dream... Is this real?

Man, once again, vibes to everyone in Japan and other coastal areas. It's really sad that all of this is happens especially right after New Zealand and all.

A Japanese nuclear power plant exploded today, triggering a 'nationwide atomic alert' in the country already reeling under the impact of giant tidal waves caused by a massive earthquake which has left 1600 people dead or unaccounted for.The main reactor at Fukushima nuclear plant in northern Japan, 250 kilometres north of Tokyo, exploded this afternoon leading to radiation leaks injuring four people as the authorities told 45,000 residents living within a 10-km radius of the leaking plant to evacuate their homes, Kyodo news agency reported."The plant is experiencing a nuclear meltdown," Japanese nuclear scientists confirmed, after Prime Minister Naoto Kan visited the site in a helicopter early today.Reports said the main building of the plant housing the reactor as well as the outer walls were blown away in the high intensity explosion which occurred at 3.30 pm local time (1200 IST) as the cooling water levels dropped alarmingly through evaporation after the quake had damaged the main plant."The loss of cooling water is leading to a meltdown of the reactor," Jiji Press reported.TV footage showed smoke billowing from the site and reported that the reactor building had been destroyed. the channels and public broadcasters warned nearby residents to turn off air conditioners and not to drink tap water.People going outside were told to avoid exposing their skins and to cover faces with masks and wet towels.Kyodo quoting police said that another nuclear plant adjacent to the one which exploded was also malfunctioning with the radiation level reaching almost 1000 times the normal level. The agency said the damage caused by Friday's catastrophic earthquake in Japan expanded today, with the combined number of people who died or are unaccounted for feared to top 1,600.The Tokyo fire department send specialised "hyper rescue teams" to the exploded nuclear plants.
