Jan 21, 2009: Snocompton Jumps

super stoked! and yeah fencing off the cat track and the other side would be super tough.

with grooming it would have to be re-done every night and day. and the snowfence is harder to work with then the orange tape
 
Really? that would make them some of the largest jumps in snocompton history... other than contests film shoots etc. unless i have my sense of scale extremely skewed.

how big would people estimate them to be last year?

 
now thats just mean. they have to cross the line. or rather, texas rules: if they fall on your property, you're safe via the castle rule.
 
The big one last year was maybe 50 feet at the peak of its existence. This one is built way better though. Really floaty, not too much pop.
 
that's more what i was thinking...

they probably didn't get a whole lot bigger than that last year i feel... the second jump maybe ~40-45 feet...

anyway, i'll be up there today, fun stuff.
 
Ahhhhh Snoqualmie did it!!!!!!!! They built a dope ass jump!!!!!!!!!!!

The jump is soooo nice. I feel like I'm not at Snoqualmie. Way better than it's been. I talked to one of the park crew guys about how sick it was. I said I couldn't actually find anyhting to complain about with it! He said he'd pass the word on to the cat drivers. Maybe they'll keep up the good work. It's so fun and perfect for learning anything. I had to keep it tame because my bindings are still loose due to the knee, then it started raining. Hopefuly it only sticks around tonight. I gotta get to work on new tricks with that sweet jump!
 
Everything finally opened, but it was so fucking bombproof it wasn't even worth it. The new DFD setup is fucking ill though. Way better that it was.
 
as of today....shitty pics taken from film, will post an edit within a day or two. and depending how deep you took the 2nd jump, it went from around 40-50 ft id say.

I hate everyone that went today. I have so much I want to learn on that jump! I'll be going up a lot later in the week. It looks like itll be real warm and nice.
 
not to be the negative nancy/asshole/whiner/what have you, but it sounds like snoqualmie is at the annual "the jumps are super sick" thing, but for some reason, each year it is brief and then it implodes on itself... so.. enjoy it while you can!!!
 
haha oh snocompton, i remember when i used to ride there.

oh how i have moved onto better things in my life.
 
haha it okay we all know this is very true.
although you never know, maybe that will change this year. sure hope so
 
Nice edit, I liked the pole taps, not a fan of the fish-eye lens though, leave that for the skateboarders~
