this might be old news but today i noticed that jamie pierre was riding some of next years lib-techs. they looked dope
 
What a disaster. Someone as retarded as Jamie Pierre riding something as cool as Lib-Techs. This is a dark day in skiing.
 
^hahaha, no shit, i hate that guy. but that line in what is it, mind the addiction? where hes like, sometimes, ya just gotta sac up! that whole speech kills me, so funny.
 
It was High Life. (Watched it this weekend.) I kinda like the dude. It's always amusing to have somebody who makes up for his lack of skiing skill (compared to other pro big mountain riders) with ballsy-ass hucks (even if he sometimes lands on his head).
 
I don't respect someone who prays to Jesus and then jump off rocks onto his head in an ill-conceived attempt to prove that God exists.
 
I'd agree. I think he's a better big mountain skier than anyone on this forum (for example, he's coaching at the Alta Straightline Camp this weekend), but I don't think he's up to par with guys like Morrison, Nobis, McCintosh (sp.?), etc.
 
He is on Lib Techs and I been reading this board and can't believe the amount of shit talking about Pierre. He may have a cross stuck up his ass but it seems to work for him. If you want to think that huck was the dumbest thing ever thats fine. It also TAKES SKILL TO HUCK, maybe this jump didn't go as plan but HE IS STILL ALIVE and that is what counts. I've seen Jamie jump and land more hucks than this whole board put together. Think about if you combined the best of his segments from Tangerine Dream, Booter Crunk and Waiting Game ( all film in the same year) into one, it would be one of the best segments going. Here are few more facts about Pierre.

PS Morrison sticks about 10 percent of his airs, did he stick any in War....
 
WORD. that shit isnt skiing, its fuckin stupid. he "landed" that cliff huck on his fucking head. hes a toolbag, i just think its hilarious listening to him talk. id much rather watch someone with skills ski, like harrison or morrison. hes kinda like the Bender of skiing, but worse. at least josh bender isnt some jesusfreak preeaching to everyone.
 
Morrison only sticks 10% of his stuff? if you want to double-check that, you can ask him personally on the k2 factory team message boards. i'll be waiting to see that question appear and to see his answer. 10%... ha! maybe only 10% of his cliffs over 90ft.
 
Define "sticking" landings for me...

Because if your definition of "sticking" a landing is anything like mine, then Jamie Pierre didn't even come CLOSE to sticking his landing on that stupid cliff huck, and since sticking your landing is crucial to being able to claim ANY cliff or trick, I'd say he can't claim his 200+ft cliff.

You may/may not like the way Seth rides, but at least he sticks most of his landings, which is more than we can say for Jamie Pierre.

explain to me how the fuck anyone can land a 250 foot drop onto their skis. go ahead. seth morrison does kick his ass though, but fucking i respect jamie pierre, he is actually skiing and you gottta respect that.

im on a pair wilson lent me and its the "all mountain" ski, pretty wide in the tip, narrow in the tail and lots of scoup up front
 
well the bender of skiing is probably mike wilson who coincidentally rides for lib tech.

Jamie Pierre is a pretty good skier who goes ridiculusly huge and very rarely lands. with that being said he is an ass. there is a reason he got kicked out of Alta 2 years ago
 
LCCkid - Jamie skis the Bird every day, take a run with him on Baldy and watch him stick every air on the hill. He did a huge Lawn dart off of Ski Utah yesturday and stuck it like glue. If you were an real LCC kid you would know.
 
when someone called him "Bender", i thought they meant John Bender, as in The Breakfast Club - which also kind of makes sense.

So in that case he's just jumping off the cliff with sticks attached to his feet so that he can claim it hard? That's not skiing, that's insanity.
 
you can't top josh bender. he used to roll around my home mountain on his monoboard doing worm turns and talk down to every one.
 
ya word....jamie is a way better skier than i am, but he doesnt land shit, he just throws his carcase off cliffs all the time.
 
i dunno man... perrie skis some tech as shit nasty micansty lines.. with some death consiquensies... hes got skill and more balls to go around.. thats tight if hes on lib.. salmon sucks assholeeeooo
 
ha. have you seen some of his lines he skis, like the one for 'line of the year' a couple years back? shit is rediculous gnar and technical...i think his ginormous cliff hucks have stolen the spotlight from his actual skiing abilities. that said, jamie pierre is an asshole and gnar balls skier, not just a cliff hucker.
 
very nicely put. this sums it all up. yea, hes a good skier, ballsy to say the least. someone has to push the envelope in every direction. i think its great he did the cliff drop. but he does have a attitude, holy shit. whatever, i dont hang around him, so i dont give a shit. i dont know why anyone cares, they dont chill with him, so stop talking about how much you hate him. fast forward the movie if you dont want to hear him talking.

and the comparrison to Seth Morisson should stop. its absolutly stupid. first of all, theyre type of skiing is almost completley different. yes theyre both "big mountain" skiers, but seth rides waaaay more "mountain" mountains than pierre does. also, his style cant be touched. personally, i cant stand how jaime skis, but everyone has opinions. i also hate how tanner hall skis, again, its an opinion. seth is just a much better skier, all around. dropping cliffs into parking lot flat ice, pulling backs randomly off 50-100 footers. hes an amazingly balanced skier, especially going into bigger mountains. and if you guys dont remember that morrison used to jump and shit alot more. he used to be( and still is if he tried) a very good jumper. hugely confident in the air. well thats my rant, im at school and bored. morisson is better skier. hands down.
 
And just so everybody knows, jamie is NOT all okay after the cliff huck. My friend trevor hiatt who is a pro skier and a big mountian cliff hucker (hes soooo good) says that jamie has been having seizures and shit. It is not good
 
Jamie's been having seizures for a while. They even talked about them in a powder article several years ago. While I don't doubt that they are related to all his cliff hucks, I don't think it was that particular impact that did it; he's absorbed so many over the years, far more than the human body is designed to take.
