Keller Williams a jam band? Oi. P Groove, WSP, Moe yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

Atlantaski remind me why you got unbanned?

hey man, I've seen string cheese incident, Yonder Mtn string band, and umphreys mcgee all live at red rocks ampitheater(CO). And i'm going to see widespread panic on july 22 at winter park. should be pretty sweet.

ummm last time i checked keller is considered to be in the jam band genre....P groove is one of the best bands playing right now and you are all wrong except for maxfreeride who only gets credibility because he was my HN roommate

i agree, vocals are so important to me, thats the one thing about phish that i can't stand sometimes. when they do drowned on new years 95, the singing is just god awful.

"these are the best CURRENT jambands according to atlantaski basically making it infallible."

Most jambands suck. They all just drive a riff harder and harder until they get to a "peak", then wank over it for awhile. That's not jamming. Moephree's McCheese sucks.

dude you dont like SCI? i can see moe. when i saw them opening for the allman brothers i thought they sucked, and umphreys is the best

phish isnt a "CURRENT" jam band, tea leaf green is ok, but they arent better or more popular than any of the other bands listed

this thread is so sick.

Atlantaski's revised 2007 top Jam Band list

10. Not umphreys mcgee

wow, its funny to see shit you posted so long ago. My tastes have definitely changed. no longer a fan of umphrey's. their old stuff is good but they've gotten too ridiculous, but as for cheese I still think they are (were) one of the best musically, basically because of hollingsworth.

i think everone in that band is (was) pretty talented, musically, technically, other than keith. i have to say hes one of the lamest bassists in the scene. he seems like a great guy, i like his vocals, but he plays the easiest simplest bass lines. thats always been my main nitpick of cheese.

if you're into the newer bluegrass type stuff check out the band cornmeal, they rip it. I was never really that big of a fan of bluegrass, but these guys ( plus a girl violinist who is out of this world, literally running across stage while playing flawlessly fast licks) had me jumping ten feet in the air.

recently ive been really into Trampled By Turtles and Greensky Bluegrass, both super sick bluegrass bands that jam so well.

does anyone else not listen to jambands at all anymore that once liked them? i personally think jam bands stink now.  i listen to jazz for full on improvisation.

I stopped towards the end of high school but now, a few years later, I've gotten back into it. More bluegrass than jam recently, though.

you should all check out flowmotion too, they are not big yet, but still good. and i've seen yonder mountain and widespread panic in concert in portland and seattle and they were fucking amazing, both of them, and especially with some herb and/or alcohol in your system

kind of goes without saying... my goal at every show is to blackout and have my friends carry my unconcious body out of the show.
