basically 10's of thousands of people have done it to allow themselves access to thousands of differnt apps that will blow your brain, there are so many great ones, games, background, everything...some people are saying that you don't need to because now the apps store is up and running, but honestly there isn't that much stuff...sure theres free stuff but a lot of great material is free if you jailbreak your ipod
