Jackson hole

I know there's a million of these threads but here goes.

So im going to be taking a trip to Jackson/Targhee in early january. I was wondering what kind of terrain at jackson hole will be open(I know they're getting dumped on now)? is that too soon for the good stuff to be open at Jackson? I guess what im really asking is how much base is required for most of the advanced stuff to be open at Jackson? Also any info about Powder stashes, sick runs, or Good restaurants in town or Teton village would be appreciated.

Jackson already has great coverage up high. The gondola opened today (snow was awesome). The tram, thunder and sublet are opening tomorrow. The craigs and corbets are already filling in nicely and if this keeps up should be good to go before jan.

Really the only concern is that is has been only rain below 7000 feet so the bottom stuff is pretty much bare.

For cheap food, hit up the taco truck in the village, and Thai Me Up for a late happy hour in Jackson.

Couldn't have been said better.

Tram opened Saturday, along with a lot of the other terrain. Still no park of any sort, but I hope you're not coming here planning to ski park. Below 7000 feet is at least covered with snow now. If it keeps snowing like this then it'll definitely be a good year. Yesterday reminded me of 2008. The year the entire mountain opened in Nov.

Targhee is a little out of the way but worth the trip to experience it.

Definitely eat at Thai Me Up, $6 curry is the best. Pinky G's is awesome as well and cheap, good pizza and usually a good crowd. In the village go to the moose if you're 21, it's wild.

Let me know when you get here, I work in JH sports rental shop, so if you need help whenever I'll be around.

Saturday was epic. Did a morning lap on the claw today (teton pass) and it might have been the best turns of my life.

Below 7000 feet should be good after this next storm cycle.

If it keeps up like this the whole mountain will be open before Christmas.

Its really shaping up to be a good year.

Me and a couple buddies are trying to plan a trip down there this year, now that I FINALLY have my license. Would any one be down to show a couple shredders from Big Sky around?

Thinking bout making a trip up to jackson on saturday through wed. How is targhee right now and is the cat skiing there worth it? And anyone got any way to get deals on lift tickets there at jackson? like employees get cheap ones we can buy off? Fucking 80 bones a day is going to be pricy. PM me if you don't want to respond in the thread. Cheers and the snow sucks in CO right now

ha, i have the same questions as skiingpimp. im getting there saturday, skiing sunday through wednesday. doing the cat skiing at targhee too. any tips/advice?

yea... get here tonight and ski tomorrow. calling for 10-18 by the morning. but seriously you have good timing, we just had a massive high pressure system sitting over us for 12 days with no snow and -24 degree temps. Past couple days have given everything a nice refill. Never done the cat skiing at targhee but I'm sure it will be fun.

Sorry for the bump but I don't want to make an unnecessary thread. So I will be going to Jackson this March and I was wondering what some of you local guys would say are the must-ski areas. Thanks in advance.
