I am at nationals in Montana and I am heading back to the east coast when I am done but I was thinking of driving around and hitting a few more areas... Who has snow? Jackson Hole sounds like a good MT but do they have snow? What about Colorado? anything there? I don't want to go any further west than I have too. p.s. the trip was sick! I have hit Steamboat, Vail, the backside of Vail, Jackson Hole, Alpine Meadows, and now I am in Montana

Go to Jackson. All of the new snow in CO means damn near every resident of the state will be at the ski areas this weekend. It's going to be super crowded, and the snow was wet and heavy. So it's all been compacted into mashed potato snow. That, and the terrain at Jackson is so much cooler. I don't know how that's even a question!

Yeah, jackson is pretty sick. Are you in montana for the J3 junior olympics?

oh this is the eternal question...

hm, if you asked this a week ago there would have been no contest: jackson all the fucking way. if i could move there, i would. that mountain will kick your ass and leave you begging for more. it would take you a lifetime to ski all of the terrain and then some to ski the backcountry stuff. i could go on and on... but i digress. let's look at the other side: colorado. 24 epic resorts scattered throughout the state. however, it is spring break time and this is prime texan season. but we just got hit with 5-7 feet (depending on where you are) in the last three days with another storm heading in on wednesday. first tracks in vail's bowls are what life's all about, and breck and copper's parks are top notch right now.

this is a tough call. i'm not even going to chose one or the other. i hope from this info you can decide for yourself.

Sounds like Colorado is going to have to be the place to go!!! Anyone want to lodge a couple ski bums for a day or two? and who is representing the cheapest most fun MT?

Hit up Arapahoe Basin in Colorado. It's right past Breckenridge, between Copper Mountain and Keystone...those are all good too. But A-basin is the highest ski resort in north america I think. It's pretty sweet--right on the Continental Divide. It's enjoyable.

a-basin's not between copper and keystone. if you're heading east, it's about 10 minutes past keystone. i don't know if a-basin is the highest, but loveland boasts the highest chairlift in north america.
